Sorry if this in the wrong place.
A friend has asked me if I would consider our foals going out together to keep each other company. Hers was very late so is only just being weaned.
I am all for the idea as gives them both the chance to play, my only concern is that hers is very boisterous, mine is very chilled and laid-back. I don't want her coming back behaving like a loon. Is that likely to happen?

Personally I like foals to have the chance to play with other foals and learn to be horses. Im sure it would do her the world of good. I assume your friends is either a filly or gelding, as I wouldnt now run her with a colt. Im sure your filly is well handled and will not turn into a raving loon xxxx

If anything it will quieten them both down, if you leave your foal with no-one to play with then he/she will most likely try and play with you. Are they colts or fillies? Just re read, and yours is a filly.

According to LP, Velvet was a loon before she became Gracies best friend. Since the girls have been together they are inseparable but rarely run around prefering girly grooming and staring into the distance sessions. I agree with what the other have said- it teaches them how to be horses and better manners.

Velvet was a spoilt little madam, who liked nothing more than to stand on her hind legs and leap above your head......see the piccy in my signature! Since being out with Gracie at HTPs yard, she has been squashed to the bottom of the pecking order and is actually quite meek and mild now She still has the old spark in her, when you trot her up - the tail still goes vertical and she shows off BUT she isnt leaping off the floor Its been brilliant for her xx

I'm all for them having foalie company to play with too, they just have to learn that their time is their own when loose, but they are expected to behave and be mannerly when haltered. I quite like to have an adult in with them as well to instill a bit of horse discipline when required, I have an old gelding brilliant at this but now out on loan, but it isn't essential. They will learn not to hassle the grownups at some point!
