What do you have to do? Just a normal show, side by side? What do you get marked on?

I've not been to Equifest, but have watched - and competed in - this class at other shows.
Ponies don't have to match, however it can help the overall picture if they do. If you can get matching jackets, ties etc, it can improve the picture, even if the ponies don't match. But most important is to have a good show where the ponies work together in harmony. Some people do a standard figure-8 show, others introduce more fancy stuff such as serpentines. Yet others do a split show, like a mini-musical ride, where the ponies separate, cross over and come back together again. Lots of options, but practice and a polished performance will win over matching ponies.
Two friends of ours do very well in Pairs classes locally (M&M pairs, not adult & child) on a black Welsh D and a chestnut Shetland! Nothing about the ponies matched, but the performance they put on was great, and they were together all the way.

I don't think they necessarily have to be the same colour or match , its more about working a nice show together and how they go , good luck and have fun if you decide to do this !

Just going to say what Nici Said if you can coordinate your outfits and accersories, be immaculate which you will be anyway and a nice planned show showing a little side by side and maybe even a joining of hand at the halt at the end, very much show man ship but keep it simple and neat rather than trying to go for it big time and messing it up
