Although we all feel Connie deserved her win at Windsor the NPS will need to re-look at the Rules and these results. If it were any other judge and not the competitions chairman the response from us all could have been very different. In truth we all know that from previous shows. The attitude of the Competitions Committee may have differed as well. The NPS needs to be seen to be publicly squeaky clean over this which could mean - as in Scotland - that the result has to be void.
The NPS Rule book states "First & Second placed ponies from each class compete for the Championship when the Champion pony on: a] Presentation of the Championship rosette, then b] provided that the Adult Showing membership card is produced by the Rider, in the Ring, will be the pony deemed to go forward to the Final at Olympia in December"
The NPS - for its own good - cannot be seen to waver on its Rule Book. Yes the pony did deserve to win and it is unfortunate but Rules are Rules. The pony also came from the judge's area has a vey good jockey taught by the judge's rider. This is an awful situation for all concerned but the final decision has to be seen to be fair to competitiors and judges alike.

It was a deserved win, quit with the snide remarks please. Yes a bit more clarity would be welcomed in the rule book but there will always be room for improvement

Nothing untoward was meant. The pony is champion and that cannot be disputed however under the present NPS Rule Book the pony doesn't appear to meet the criteria for qualifying for Olympia and sadly the Reserve wasn't given the opportunity to show their card. No-one would wish this situation on anyone but other judges have made mistakes and been crucified by those using this website for not standing by the Rule Book. In this instance the card wasn't produced in the Ring. The NPS has to remember all of those who have missed out in the Silver Medal classes in the same way. Malvern is their Olympia.

I wasn't there, and don't know any of the people involved.
I have to say, if you think the society's rules have been breached, then you should be taking the matter up with the society in the proper manner, as opinions on here will always be divided. I don't have access to the rule book, but I do feel from what others have posted that they are open to interpretation in this instance.
The NPS are the only people who can make a difinitive decision regarding how their own rules apply to this situation. I don't think speculation on here is helpful to anyone.
You are also pointing out certain connections with the judge, again, if you feel the situation is unnacceptable, then the NPS are the people to contact.
