I've seen a gorgeous brown tweed for my little girl but it has a burgandy velvet collar, what hat colour would be best? I've never seen a jacket like it (which is why I like it!) to notice whether children wear burgandy hats in the ring (seen brown, green, grey etc) Was going to splash out and get her a brown hat for this season anyway as her heads about fully grown now and pony is an exmoor so like the brown tones to compliment her colouring.

Sorry, but, imo, brown, green & burgundy hats are foul! Navy or grey for me.

Everyone entitled to an opinion i guess but to me it is about co-ordination - finding something to match both pony/horse and rider / handler. Would be pretty boring if everyone had the same colours on and how else do you stand out from the crowd in a ring full of competitors wearing the same? Hayesface, you could also look into getting a new collar put on it if you dont like the burgundy? we have done this in the past to match a green hat i used to wear when i showed ponies x

Had a look on the CO website and it doesn't say anything about doing burgundy anymore, but I'm sure they used to! Other than them its champion or patey!!! May have to steer away from CO anyway as daughter is complaining they are tight on the sides of her head so maybe champion are a little rounder?

Brown sounds best I wear brown and I always have its very traditional and works really well. Burgandy looks a little blingish! from when I have seen it being worn.
