Please can anyone tell me what the courses are like for the M&M's & are there loads in the classes, hence do they take ages. I have also heard poor reports about the stables getting flooded out last time? Are all the jumping rings on surfaces? It is a very long way from me & am trying to weigh up if its worth going early as I'm not a winter show person. Also anyone seen that Ruth Lears class - the wording states Novice WH ex 153cm, but if you read the rules it does not stop an open intermediate worker including a hoys/rihs horse entering-am I reading this correctly?
We have a 138cm M&M who has qual for the nov, rest & open & also a novice horse who could come along to do the Ruth Lears. I am trying to decide whether it is worth going. I last went over 10 years ago with an Intermediate & it was at Stoneleigh then! I remember jumping outdoors - can't remember if on grass or a surface & then got into teh night performance indoors. Courses were very good then & huge classes but after a long gap away I wondered if it was the same?
To be honest none of mine are clipped & live out most of the time & i have to maintain all of our rented land & hence this time of year is a time for roughing off & working the land after a hard winter. I also work full time so I will struggle to get two ready by teh end of April along with all teh other work that needs doing at this time of year! ps - I'm not to mean to pay contractors - but they are in short supply in this area to do any "non farm" fields. Plus I have a tractor harrow & roller so what I save in not paying them now I can use for travel to summer shows! My dilemma is do I wear myself out now trying to prepare two for the end of April or give it a miss & get ready as per normal for the Mid to end May shows! I don;t think anyone has the money to waste this year unless you are 100%!
thanks fin advance or any info you can give me for info on the champs.
