I don't think there's anyone out there who thinks this pony doesn't deserve the ticket.
IMO, the controversy is over whether the ticket was awarded within the rules of the competition. I think the NPS have to decide that, and hopefully they will do that quickly so that everyone knows where they stand.
Then I think the whole card situation needs looking at to stop something like this happening again.

Going with some of the postings elsewhere, it looks like the NPS need to sit down and take a long hard look at their current rules - and modify quickly where appropriate!
Rules need to be able to be comprehended and interpreted correctly and clear guidance should be given alongside the rules to avoid any possible ambiguity.
Otherwise, we will continue to have a lot of disappointed and disheartened members out there.

Surely NPS will see sense and allow the qualification to stand, however from what I have heard that will not be the case.
If the qualification is taken away, i feel that NPS should make it known how that decision was made, when and by whom.
As I stated on the origianal thread, Mr Bright was in the collecting ring as the ponies left the ring and was not "best pleased" to say the least. Surely this matter should be dealt with at NPS Council's next meeting and not by one or two of the Officers, of which he is one!!!!!
It's been a week since Windsor and no "official" decision has been made, but apparently one of the Officers went on holiday the following day, so maybe that explains that.
Maybe NPS should look at this thread and see the percentage of votes of Connie.

Has anyone heard whether there has been any further development on this yet? Seems dreadful to make them wait this long with no decision!

Thought we might have heard something by now as there was a council meeting this week, but nothing on the website yet - it's been over a fortnight now, we've had government inquiries take less time!!!!

in some schedules it is stated that they must have the card on them when the rossette is presented, in others it isnt, so it depends on what was written

I heard that a decision was being made today as to whether Connie should go to Olympia or not. There was a committee meeting today Poor Connie has no chance! This post has been modified by request.

It's such a waste of a ticket if she doesn't get to keep it, she obviously deserves to go

This card business undermines the basic principle of showing. The judge in each Olympia qualifying round knows that only the Champion will have the honour and qualification for this prestigious final. In this case the pony selected by that judge as Champion should go forward - it is high time that the NPS should ditch this ridiculous system and by doing so it will eradicate the no hopers in this world who by any way which or means will try and disqualify and discredit a worthy winner on the day. Face it - qualification by default and by getting rid of the competition is not honourable or sporting but then again the type of person who goes to those ends does not know the meaning of those two words. Disgusted.

I agree, should be confirmed afterwards by the office - BUT how does anyone know which pony really qualified unless its the pon which has to be registered before hand? Recently I've been grooming quite a lot and have been absolutely gobsmacked at the number of competitors who have appeared to try and get in these qualifiers without the correct card in their pocket/possession. I'm talking adults here not children - some of whom are professionals and should know the rules, also it would appear some have been let in after a period of debate either with or without the card! Interestingly it appears the numbers in some of these classes are not as high as in previous years, may be the cost of fuel.....or problems with monitoring. Will be interesting to see what the NPS decide to do....don't forget there are always at least two sides to every story and its sometimes difficult to know which is which. Personally I think qualifying cards for registered ponies should be the way forwards, that way the judges would write on the card in the ring - maybe also a photo of the pony so people were clear which it was!!
