I have been trying to rehome my grandads (he is unwell so cant walk her anymore) lurcher for a while now but not having much look. Have asked around a few people but am wary as she has been worked in the past and dont want travellers getting hold of her. I would have her but we have 3 cats and it would be unfair for her to be in a kennel all the time. She is 7, very fit and well and very energetic. Not good with cats/chickens etc but fine with other dogs. Does anyone know of anyone who would be willing to take her on? We are in Nottinghamshire.

There are some sighthound specialist charities who rehome only lurchers and sighthounds and are VERY fussy about where they go - we didn't qualify as the bit*hes we already had weren't spayed, of course the one adopted would have been, that's par for the course. Try googling "Lurcher Link". We now have a ridiculous but wonderful rescue saluki from the local pound, I think most people would have sent him back to be honest - and homecheck all passed by ex policement who also homechecked for the GSD rescue.
