yes ours are back too, but we have converted an out house into a utility room and they keep head butting the glass on the door. Now have a few window stickers on there before we have a fataility.

yes, ours are back in South Wales too. And the Bl**dy Cuckoo. Does it not know when to shut up? AND how boring it is. Why can't it say something else? ?

One of our pairs arrived back about 10 days ago, looking very bedraggled, but got stuck into nest selection, they have built many over the years, so now pick and choose from those. Two days later two more breeding pairs arrived, one pair are new, possibly one of last years fledglings with its partner, and some two year olds who were fledged here. Spring is definately here when they arrive home and we just love having them here.

I hope that comment was tongue in cheek Declining species - we don't hear them round here too often - if I woke up to hear a cuckoo I would be a happy bunny

I heard the first cuckoo on Wednesday too. I just love to hear the arrival of all the different birds. There seem to be loads more curlews this year and they are really noisy through the night but I'd much rather hear that than road noise or night club kick out!!

mine came back last thur, but only one pair so far hope the rest make it ok, but arnt they amazing little birds, when you stop and think about the sights they must see, in our winter there in africa dealing with lions and tigers, and when they come to the uk, they get little girl thingy cats to deal with, if they could talk they would be amazing to listen to, the stories they could tell
