i have a golden retriever who - like every other dog is warm in this weather question is i am tempted to clip my dog with my horse clippers. was just wondering whether to just clip his tummy and neck area or give him a full clip leaving his legs and tail . . . or just leave well alone can't really afford to get a proffessional groomer to do it what do other dogs owners think.

I know someone who clipped their dog today (full clip with legs, tail and head left on) and he seemed very grateful to be feeling cooler.

I shave my labrador every month with our liveryman cattle clippers I just leave his head legs and tail the rest is to the skin. He gets so excited he lies on his back with his legs in the air waiting lol. He gets shaved as he gets too hot and used to collapse. Much better now

got him to lie on his back and away i went - very satisfying ha ha took all his belly and chest hair off wow certainly a lot now it looks like i have a very skinny golden retriever was tempted to take all of it but got voted against by my son and husband.
sorry maive i am hopeless with techno and can't put photos on :-( sorry
glad i clipped him as he is much happier . . . . although now turning cooler here in lancashire now wondering if i should buy him a coat!!!!!!
