13.2hh, 9 year old, chestnut gelding with 3 white socks and a blaze. very chunky true to type welsh section C.
Charlie has competed in rallies, dressage, cross country, show jumping, hacking and fun rides. he has won numerous showing classes (local and county level) and dressage competitions. he very rarely has a pole down and never refuses. although he excels in the show ring, his angle would be /pony club/dressage/jumping/ode as he finds it much more enjoyable.
he has only been competed lightly in recent years due to my commitments, his talents really are wasted with us. his only showing outing in 2009 resulted in: 1st 2ft whp, 2nd 2ft 3" m&m whp, 1st 2ft 6" whp and 2nd m&m ridden. he also did cross country for the first time in 2009 and went clear over a 2ft 3" - 2ft 6" course including tyres, ditch, logs, barrels, shrubs.
i have spent the summer mainly hacking as i have lost interest in showing after doing it for the last 18 years! he is fit and well muscled because of this as we go for between 2 and 4 hours at a time. he is happy to go first or last when hacking in a group. he is safe in heavy traffic - we have to use the main road for any decent hacking facilities so is used to lorries, buses, caravans, motorbikes.
this pony is a very smart little chap. i cannot practice my show or dressage tests too many times as he will try and guess what is next!! he has also worked out if he wees in a bucket (saves valuable time in the morning when mucking out!!), he gets a carrot!! this pony really is one in a million.
he works perfectly in an outline with minimal effort. he is a forward going but responsive ride. ridden in a snaffle at all times. he is very people orientated and gets his confidence from his rider.
please no novices or people looking for a first pony as we are looking for a quiet, confident experienced family home.
he is fully vaccinated, great with the farrier, to box, in traffic.
his only downfall is that he can be a bit quirky so is not suitable for a novice. he is not dangerous but would not suit a nervous rider and can throw in a buck or two when excited.
£2000
