Hi, a very old salve is dock leaves boiled in lard with a good spoon of salt. Keep it cooking for about 30 min. (It stinks so have the windows open), when it starts to go cold put in an old jam jar. This is good for anything that needs the same colour hair to grow back. good for scratches as well.

Using honey can reduce scar tissue and is a very good healer for newer wounds!

if you use honey it should be a good quality one like acacia or manuka (dont know whether that is the right spelling or not )but the better quality the quicker the healing.
