it is seriously unfair to the puppys! i couldnt believe it when he said they are ready to go and most of his brothers and sisters had already been homed! i kept him on puppy milk for quite some time! poor little mite! took him to be checked at the vets quite often to make sure he was ok.

Hi Kellytl I was the same with my JR - as a pup looked like he was going to be smooth hair, but when very hair @ about 3 mths.... got him from Fayre Oaks - 6 yrs this Sept - people selling him said he was 6wks, more like 4wks - but he is spoilt rotten :-) Snoopy as a pup Snoopy @ 5yrs.. Just a bit different - but would not swap him for the world :-)

Snoopy's head was black as a pup, now brown and also i would not let anybody play with his ears as a puppy, in the hope that they would stay bent... and they did....

I suppose that's the risk you take when not buying from a proper breeder, seeing both parents, checking to see if parents had been health checked etc. I've seen them at FO too, looking very sweet in cages (I wonder if that's why these were both young, to fit in with dates of selling venues?).

I think it is the same dog, if you look at the shape of the markings, ignore the colour, they are identical Personally looks like he has some yorkshire terrier in him

Nothing much to add as this is an old thread, but I'm bored and it's bucketing down outside. Just wanted to say that ears can and do 'go stiff', most if not all breeds that have erect ears are born with them floppy

i think it looks like a yorky x jack russell . when i bred my cairns they were all black or brindle , now they are wheaten or light grey . its so cruel of breeders to allow pups to leave there mum for 5 mins at that age never mind permanantly .

I had a little Jrt pup that looked like your pups she turned out looking very different when grown a bit like the long haired one her ears also stuck up when she was teething and never flopped over again.

Obviously that's why the so called 'breeder' sold them at 3 weeks old whilst they still looked like JRs, how naughty of them.

Some dog breeds can be like that, especially on cross breeds. You pretty much roll the dice on how they grow up to look like.
