Right ..my mum has 2cats both boys, both chopped. Chooie is 4.. Mouge is 11 Mouge (real name Toby!) has a very annoying, disgusting problemo.. He will be chilling on the window-ledge/chair/under a table/in a plant pot inside the house or outside the house ...And he will literally go in the house JUST TO POO! walks straight past the litter tray, past any 'cat made toilet' outdoors I have never known a 'dirty' cat (we have had millions) all very clean! Its only been over the last few years he has started this BAD habbit - he isnt Imomobile or any bad joints just this strange bl**dy habbit! Mum has gone through two settee's and numorous rugs as he has soiled them!!!

My old cat did this he was 12 he would go round to my neighbours house and poo in her kitchen, regardless of the fact we had a tray and he was outside too. He did it for a while till she came round and asked if we could clean it up ourselves (we were oblivious up until this point) we too him to the vets who said he had gone senile and we decided to have him PTS as it wasnt nice for him to keep doing that. Maybe just worth having him checked out, he might just be a naughty boy lol.

If he was senile wouldnt there be other clues that he'd gone potty? or is that sign enough? x

I'm afraid it does sound like his mind is going a bit. Get your vet to have a look at him, my old female cat used to stand with her front paws in the litter tray and wee on the newspaper I had to put down next to the tray! I'm afraid moppable floors are the way to go if you want to keep your cat a while longer, and just confine him to where you can easily clean up the mess.

My bengal cat, used to come into the lounge and wee on the sofa. (she is very highly strung!!!!) We tried all the vets recommended methods to stop her - difusers etc etc. She actually weed on the diffuser! In the end I bought a PLUG IN airfreshener form Ambi Pure. The non allegenic one and plugged it on full blast, hoping that guests wouldnt notice the pong! She never came in a did it again!!!! Not saying it works for all - but it worked for her If the airfreshener ever gets low on scent, she will come in and wee again. Its def that smell that masks her from re-scenting xx

he is an odd ball anyway - as a baby he used to hide behind the settee, wait very patiently for somebody to walk by so he could attach himself to their leg.. teeth & all! & would cling on for a wee while! He also once bit my brothers head LOL Goin to get my mum to take him to the vets then .. see whats going on xx

They often bite your head. Weirdly its a sign of kitty affection - if not altogether appreciated LOL x

I am an unofficial OAP cat home - mine are 13, 14, 16 18, 19 and 23.
The last two live in my kitchen when I am not around or asleep. Little Sue who is 19 is on the whole very good with her tray but sometimes forgets herself and poos near it. I keep a puppy pad under it as she also does not always get all of herself in it and pees over the edge.
Lulu who is 23 has for the past few years refused to use a litter tray and has training pads. Even then, we will occasionally poo beside the pad.
Both are rather stiff and yes, I think the marbles are not all there and they forget where they are at times.
Luckily I have a large kitchen and floors that can be easily mopped up. They are allowed out into the lounge to cuddle up with me when I sit down for the evening and as they tend to eat and sleep nearly all the time, they are happy in the kitchen with their igloo beds and my sanity is kept.
