Has anyone ever used chamois leather under the saddle to stop it slipping? Do they work? Does the leather have to be dry or will it grip better if put on slightly damp? Willing to try anything as the only anti-slip saddle pad that's worked is a sticky gel pad but it's visible & I don't want to cut it just for use in the showring

This is an old trick we used to use eventing - yes have the chamois damp but well rung out works a treat!

Have tried just about everything on the market and the only thing that works is a Gel-eze pad. Absolutely fantastic, no movement at all and breathable. Even used it under a side saddle. Tried a chamois but it dried out and back to square one! Even tried dock leaves, don't ask....!Good luck.
