As some of you know I have just had (well my dog has!) a litter of miniature pinschers.
I have spent a lot of time, research and money producing this litter. They are fabulously bred and it would be criminal not to show the pup I will keep.
My dog had an unfortunate accident with means he can not not be shown, so my experience is limited.
I am desperate to give it a go but it is very daunting!
I have found my local ring craft class, any advice you can give me on getting started would be gratefully received.

If i were you iwould go along to a few open shows and just watch to start with ,watch the handlers and generally get the feel of it . The people at ringcraft should be able to point you in tje right direction also the paper "dog world" can be quite interesting ,show dates, results, etc. I have not shown any of my dogs for a few years now but i did enjoy it and haveing the occasional litter if i wanted a new youngster to show . good luck it would be nice to see a piccy of the pup you decide to keep.

I would start by going to a couple of breed club shows so you can see a lot of your dogs breed altogether and see what type does well/how they are presented and handled etc etc. Ringcraft classes can be good but can sometimes be run by enthusiastic rather than experienced people who may have no knowledge of your particular breed. Try an exemption show for the first few times so you can get ringcraft experience with no pressure and then try opens and champ shows, be prepared to watch and learn from the people who are doing well, and most of all ENJOY!!!!
