I can't find the thread that I read it on, but is it the case that you are now permitted to wear spurs for warming up under NPS rules as long as they are removed prior to a class? I have looked at the rules and can't see anything that confirms or otherwise, so if someone can point me in the direction of where it says this, I would appreciate it.

Were you not able to before? Pretty sure i've worn spurs in warm up and nobody has ever pulled me up for it. I asked the secretary at a comp first time was going to use spurs and they said i could, though wasn't NPS comp but had NPS Q's. Could always email NPS just to check, should maybe check myself.

The only mention I can find is rule 3.3 f which says that wearing of spurs in NPS aff classes is forbidden. It doesn't say whether you can or cannot when warming up. The only time it mentions 'equipment' when warming up is the use of side reins when lunging - it doesn't mention spurs. If in doubt I'd check with them just in case, personally I would think that they are not allowed but as it doesn't say so - you ought to call them if you're planning to, it would be awful to get disqualified over something like that!

We were just recently advised that you can now warm up wearing spurs at NPS show but NEVER compete in them.

I've seen someone getting a pretty hard time for warming up in spurs (albeit a couple of years ago) so it would be good to know definitively.

Looked through all the rules and all I could find was... Doesn't say about not using them to warm up?
