so fed up of going to shows to see a group of owners from a particular yard where many owners are claiming benefits while doing part time work and claiming cash in hand.
These people are secretly living on the yard so avoiding council tax etc yet they can afford to keep 8 horses one of which is worth over 10k yet they need tax payers money so they can live?
It really annoys me when the earliest I have been leaving work this last week is 7pm!

Absolutely report them, they are thieves and fraudsters. There is a telephone number (freephone) you can ring and you don't have to give your name. If you start feeling bad about it, remember these people are stealing from you and I and also for those people that through no fault of there own fall on hard times and need benefits.
Pick up the phone now.

I know of a woman that claims disability allowance due to a crippling back problem, has countless numbers of horses and ponies, none of her family work, yet she is sooo disabled that she continues to ride her horse and lunge her daughters ponies, mucks out and drive her 7.5t wagon, doesn't seem very disabled to me! I think these people should be named and shamed, I for one am sick and tired of working hard for very little reward to subsidies these scroungers

You could not imagine for one second how cross this sort of person makes me!!!!! I work all hours god sends as a community nurse and had to give up having ponies as we could just cpould not afford it! How people cold be so darn deceitful is beyond me. Our youngest son has recently been diagnosed epileptic and a friend whose son is also epileptic claims DLA she said i should think of doing so too. Just could not do it I am sure there is someone out there whose need for that benefit is greater than ours. Arrrrgh to people like the ones you are describing!!!!

Our former neighbours had nine children, all registered disabled and she got 3K a WEEK! Plus a lovely new mini bus every three years. These children supposedly had ADHD, only one of them was autistic and when she moved back to the Mansfield area she left that son now aged nineteen in the care of the local health authority. He has now officialy been abandoned by his mother. So if you live in that area and see a new green mini bus driven by a lunatic woman who goes by the name of "Big Bev" tell her we dont miss her or her noisy brats and barking dogs one bit. Poor Mansfield!

I am surprised they are getting enough benefits to run a wagon and keep 8 horses, they must be either earning an income from elsewhere, having savings or being getting help from family - the latter two options are perfectly legal the first is not.
I had a friend who was on benefits due to a bad back and she got enough to rent a room in a house share and pay her bills but it she had to shop in charity shops and eat tesco value range food and very basic at that, she could not afford to go out and socialise and certainly could not afford to have a horse or compete. Something does not add up about the person with the bad back who is still able to afford a horse and wagon on benefits - she must be getting income from somewhere else.
I do agree it is not right that people should claim disabled benefits if they are able to work and there is work available. I do think the government is cracking down on this sort of thing so it may end up being less common.

They make my blood boil!!!
There's a woman up the road from me, who's been on benifits for years and manages to keep 6 ponies, and run a lorry (should say a shed) us tax payers are paying for it all.
It's wrong, thanks for the number :-)

This country is a mess the people who come out of work through no fault of their own get next to nothing, its the people who have an A level in benefit entitlements who get the easy ride.

The town i work in is renowned for benefit cheats, i used to think why should they get away with it, but when you see how easy it is to get it why not just join them, its only our pride stopping us from doing it but seeing these not working or just hobbling and getting easy money makes me think why the f**k am i working shift work dealing with this lot of scum, earning less than them a month and not having the time i want to spend doing my horses. Its my parents fault for giving me VALUES!!!

Why do scroungers always think 'It's Government money, so it's ok - I'm entitled to it?'
Where do they think the Government gets it's money from? Grrrr......

I have to claim benefits due to a stroke - look at me i don;'t look disabled but believe me i am as its affected my brain and so many things i can't do mentally but physically i look fine and yes i still have my old horses but my husband pays for that and we do it on a shoe string and we don't do anything else but the ponies so dont assume those who look ok are ok - sometimes i wish the stroke had left me with a limp or something as that is visable where brain damage is not .

My mum had a good idea of what to do to Benefit cheats who manage to show at a high level leaving us working people far behind - wait for the furthest show from home and as they are driving out of the showground stick a big sign on the back of their lorry 'SPONSORED BY THE BENEFITS AGENCY'. I would love to have the guts to do that!!!

I would report them. It really is amazing how many people you see out showing, who are on benefits, claiming everything under the sun, yet their showing horses and managing to buy more! How? Makes me wonder why I'm at university even bothering sometimes.. At least though when I get somewhere with my horses I can hold my head up high, and say I have worked for this, I have spent endless hours at work, somewhere I dont particulary like... and its all been my money.
Report them - if you know this much then I would.
