long or short boots on a 143 whp ??

i am old fashioned about short boots untill on a 15hander,this was always the rule in my day..but my daughter is competing in bsps 143whp classes and i am seeing more in long boots..she is 13 and suits long boots and wears them for ponyclub,sj and hunting..does anyone know what is correct as i thought i did but not so sure...can you help me please xxx jo xx

Short boots until 14 handers. Long boots on 15 handers & Intermediates usually.

My preference is short boots for juniors - whatever they are riding up to age about 14/15.

Then once the junior is starting to look like an adult I like to see short boots up to 14 hands on plaited, or small breed natives. Then long for anything bigger than 14 hands or large breed natives.

I'm all for long boots or leather short chaps or gaiters (not sure what the proper name of them is) really for safety I don't think the look comes into it anymore with me when jumps are involved this is my oh's leg after one of our horses fell on him when a double went freakily wrong, don't look at the picture's if you don't like a bit of gorryness!

Ps defininatly short boots that's what I wore on my 14hh till I turned 19 and people knew I was no longer a junior
