We have qualified for HOYS this year, and I know you get 3 grooms wristbands with your entries. I have 2 other friends that also want to come and help so do you know if they can also buy extra wristbands as they will be sleeping in the lorry with me. Also, does your wrist bands gain you access into the rest of the show, I.e. The night performances. We are hoping to go thurs, compete Friday and home sat, so will we get passes for all 3 days or just the day we are competing? Never qualified before so all very new ;D in a good way

Get there after tea on Thurs night, you will be given a stable/grooms pass. This will get you into the shopping area and if your lucky enough you can sneak into the Thurs night depending on security, however you will be too busy on Thurs night as by the time you get stabled, then a warm up in the outside arena then coloured warm up is about 9-10pm in the Caldene, he will be red hot so by the time you get him cooled off and back to bed the place will be shut. It was after 1am when we got back to the lorry last year after warm up and cool down.
Warm up was then 5.30am so had 2 hours sleep before the big day. You will need exhibitors passes which are £65? for each of your party for the Fri, get them at the time of entering. or they can order spectators tickets from Hoys website but they wont get access to the horsey area's and it is a hell of a long walk from Caldene to Stables. My lot last year were so pleased they got exhibitors wrist bands. With the wrist bands you get into the competitors bar at the end of the International arena, and basically plonk yourself on any seats that arent taken in the grandstands. There are seats up in the gods for competitors. Your exhibitors bands give you access to the whole show for the Friday.

No Mamanag You will get exhibitors wristbands for the day you compete. If you arrive the night before you will go to stable office and get a grooms wristband for that night, this gives you access to the stable area, and to get into your warm up the night before your class. It does not give you access to the show that night. If you are lucky you might get into the shopping area with your grooms wristband and you can get into the food court.
The day you compete you will use your exhibitors wristbands to get around the show/ stables etc.
If you are staying overnight on the day you have competed then the following day unlesss you purchase more wristbands you will not have access to NEC. You have to be out of your stables the following day, unless you have other horses there competing on different days.

and just on this note can anyone advise me? We have exhibitors wristbands for Saturday and all my daughter wants to watch is the Puissance on Saturday night which is obviously a big spectator draw. How full up does the viewing area get? Do i need to plonk our backsides on seats really early to guarentee she gets to see it? She'll be so gutted if she misses it! any advise very welcome :0

Saturday night the exhibitors bit gets VERY full (and its one in one out of the ringside competitors bar, best not drink too much if/when you do get in so you dont need the toilet or you wont get back in!!!)
Best get there reasonably early to watch the puissance - its the one showjumping competition we always go and watch whilst we are there, and its always v busy!! Plus they sell half of the normal exhibitors seating to the public so there is less than on other days to squish everyone in lol
