I did the same, rang on thurs to ask and I was told no chance!!! The woman was rude and not very helpful! Said she would call me when she got to my entries, but it wouldn't be for a least a week! If I haven't heard anything by Monday I'm going to cancel anyway. I don't want to give them my £500!!

We apologies for the delay in getting confirmation of entries/stabling on and out. We have been staggered by the amount of entries that have arrived since last Friday - especially the ones that have stabling requests with them. We have managed to get another 50 stables - so we will get the stables allocated as quickly as possible - but we are still unlikely to have stables for everyone - even with 1300 stables on site. Unfortunately with the amount of stable requests we have we can't continutally go through the entries to find out if yours have been received. We have now divided the entries into with/without stabling. The ones that are without stabling will be acknowledged asap - this should be by the end of this week. The ones with stabling will be allocated according to date of arrival. I apologise if I have been rude to anyone - but with the phone ringing constantly - all asking the same thing: "have my entries arrived" - nerves do get a little bit frayed!!!
Yours sincerely,
Betsy Branyan

will there be definate bspa stabling available as the schedules have only recently come out. And it seems the stabling has to go thru equifest. I dont want to enter a mare and foal with bspa to then be told by equifest no stables!

Probably us too. Supposed to be coming for the duration with 2 ponies. Live 3 1/2 hours away, not feasible for us to travel every day. Children will be gutted if we cant go. Will have to wait and see whether we get any stables I suppose

Of course people are going be upset, annoyed and angry but there is nothing that can be done about the stables as if they have anymore, it will be a safety issue to be honest! The equifest team have tried their hardest, but it's not possible to have stables for everyone!

It may be a long shot but there are a number of riding schools in the Peterborough area.
If you google, riding stables in Peterborough it brings a list up, why not give them a call if they haven't got any spare stables they may know some one who has.
We had to do this once in the Preston area, although the stables were a few miles from the show ground, it was a private yard recommended by a riding establishment, it got us out of a fix & was very good.
Were are lucky to have got stables but if we hadn't, I would be phoning round.

We have rang equifest this morning about stables. We have booked 6 stables and the rude woman on the phone told me basically tough luck! I am a member of equifest and I have no stables and they have not been helpful at all. I am disgusted and very disappointed. They have been quite happy to cash cheques for over £600 only three weeks ago knowing that they cannot stable us. They didnt even bother to put anything in with our numbers to notify us! Really not good enough!!!! Id think twice about going here again!

i'm starting to get worried now our friend booked 5 stables in the blue so we could stable together so we didn't have to send our stable form off. it's a good job i'll have a novice next year so i can send my entries off early and not have to worry about trying to qualify for anything

I think to resolve future problems it would be ideal to book the stabling earlier rather than later to avoid disappointment.

I have all 5 of the stable passes and we are sorted. We sent off the stableing form much earlier than the entries as it has been known for well over a month that the stables were selling out fast. You can stop panicing now EP :-) x

We have 3 stables, but booked these months ago as last year we had a job to get in as the stables went so quickly. Why don't you ring Betsy & have a word especially if you say your cheque had been cashed, she has always been very nice & helpful. Last year was our first time at the show and I can highly recommend Equifest. Obviously the word has got round to what a great show it is, hence more people wanting stables etc. Good luck & hope you get sorted, if not try the local riding schools/stables & see if they can help out.

Always found Betsy very helpful. I am sure she will do her upmost to help anyone.
Equifest is obviously a very successful show this year where most shows have struggled. I dont think it helps anyone to 'knock' the equifest staff. it is traumatic enough answering the phone all the time for a relatively small show and always trying to be polite to sometimes abusive competitors.
Thank-you equifest for putting on this obviously very successful show.

i have to say that i have found betsy and jenny at equifest to be very helpful and answered promptly every query i have sent to them! Bear in mind that they are under a great deal of pressure trying to please everyone and unfortunately thats not going to happen - this show has grown in popularity considerably this year and the number of entries they have received must be overwhelming - not many people would have the patience to keep their cool every minute of the day especially if faced with the same question over and over again - and im sure some entrants are far from polite when demanding to know whether they have got stables or not! always make enquiries with a smile and you are more likely to get a friendly response!

I telephoned the office today as I'd not seen any of these posts before. Unfortunately it does'nt look good on the stable front! It seems that they are allocating stables depending upon which day entries are received. Allthough I sent ours to arrive by the closing date we have no stables allocated. I believe they now have 1400 but this looks like it is still very short. My concern is that the number of qualifiers/cards given out far exceeds the number of stables that are available. As the event has become much more popular more people have chosen to attend aside the non qualifying classes. It seems a shame that as members we are not given preference. I am sure the office of three are working round the clock and are having sleepless nights about the event. If the showground capacity is allowed to increase any more perhaps additional temporary stables can be sourced from France as I have heard they are very reasonable? If anyone has up to date info on this situation please could they post it. many thanks

I havent rung yet as I can see from these threads that it is driving them nuts! I hope that they will let me know either way iin the next week as its not going to be easy for them to track down one entry and stable request amongst thousands. I will enter one class next year and book my stable months ahead, I think you can release the stable for a refund if not required. Its alot more generous than other societies who want ALL your entries in months ahead and are not refundable either!

Thank you very much to everyone who has been so patient. The update is that we have a total of 1400 stables now. This is 200 more than we had in 2011 - and the maximum that I feel that we can safely accommodate in order to still have adequate space for horseboxes, caravans, tents etc. To date we have not rejected any stabling requests that have arrived on stabling forms for either the BSPA or the Southern Highland Pony Show. We still have a few day stables for Wednesday and Saturday evenings - so if anybody wants stabling just for these nights, please contact us. We are now trying to allocate the last few duration stables - and we will get confirmation in the post on Monday. For people who have sent in entries before sending in stabling forms - we will have processed your entries - as we have no idea if you have pre-booked stabling as part of a group booking. I apologise to people who may be in this position - BUT we have been telling people since March that we knew stables would be in short demand this year and to send stable booking forms in early. We do not insist that any entries accompany the stabling form and will refund all stabling fees if cancelled by the 1st August. This is stated in the rules of the schedule - so it really was not a secret!!!!!! We will NOT have enough stabling for all of the requests we have and we will be contacting everyone on Monday/Tueday. Believe me - we do not want to reject any entry - but unfortunately we will have to if your entry is dependent on having stabling. We currently have nearly 2000 horses/ponies entered with probably another 300 entries (without stabling) to go on. This does not include any Show Jumping entries (which do not close until the 4th August), any entries for the BSPA, Driver's Dream, Southern Highland Pony Show or the NPS classes on Sunday.
Please be patient - we are doing our best to accommodate as many people as possible!
Yours sincerely
Betsy Branyan
