local or county?????

Getting really annoyed now! I went to a local show on Sat, did well, nice judges, friendly people. County standard horses there. No problem?? WRONG! Have just read thread about Carmarthen county and we've been slated for not going there to "support". Yes I do county, and we've won at Carms in years past. It wasn't even on last year. They put it on a date where it clashed with an established show. Did they think "Don't matter, little people go there?" I didn't post my entries to Carms, an oversight, but I'd allways supported the local show (only missed once in 10yrs) so I went there. WHAT'S so wrong with that?? Sooooooooo if I support a local, established show I'm wrong, if I go county I haven't supported a local show, I'm wrong again! Going to give up, then nobody will have my entries! Problem solved!!

i wouldn't worry what others think, i have done alot of local this year due to cost of fuel and bent judges at county......

Why worry about what other people say on here. Do the shows you and your family want to do and enjoy yourself. Life is too short to worry about what other people say.

wendbarry1, whatever you do when you are winning is always wrong in someones eyes, but if you were coming 5th or 6th nobody would mention it !!!! i think that says it all !!!!!!!!

Wendy Barry - Sorry if I upset you on the other thread. I think I was a little sharp! I do local and county shows. I dont follow judges I just go where I want to, Our horse all multi task and jump occasionaly.

I hope you continue to show and enjoy it. We had issues at the end of last season where we had all sorts of problems with some other competitors blaming us for rumours that had been spread around the circuit and even thought about giving up and having a 'normal'life!

However we have continued and we have had the best season ever so far!

I wouldnt worry what others think,with the cost of fuel etc. alot more people are going to choose where to go.
I posted some results on the thread for carmarthen county and gave what i thought was constructive criticism about the ring sizes then littlehorse was very quick on the defensive when i think a lot of people will have thought the same as me
I wish both Carmarthen County and Dulais Valley Show the best of luck

Showing should be about having fun anyway or why else do it

Totaly agree with blackladydog with the cost of everything if you love your showing you will go to the riding club show just to get your showing fix and I can't see the problem with a bit of healthy compition

With the cost of fuel and showing fees now going through the roof (not to mention all the household bills too)... I too am in the same boat as regards getting out there this year... I've only been out once to a dressage comp and that was back in March! Simply can't afford to go County level this year and so i will be getting 'my fix' at one of the local RC's before the season's out!....like shelleyj says... 'sod 'em... just go out and enjoy yourself'!!

I've got a day out to the beach planned and a day schooling round a XC course planned and i bet my bottom dollar I'll enjoy these days out more than anything!! LOL
