hi, i'm new to side saddle showing and have a few questions so i don't embarrass myself:
1) what colours are stocks, waistcoats, gloves allowed to be
2) What are the rules on stockpins. (they have to be plain?)
3) Scrunchies in hair- colours, restrictions?
4) fancy browbands, for hunter pony, can plaited browbands be worn.
5) Where can you buy veils from

You can get veils from www.sidesaddles.co.uk In fact I'm sure Phillie Robertson can advise you on anything side saddle. Try to keep everything as subtle as possible, so no red waistcoats and def no bright scrunchies, hair should be in a bun for adults. (lots of hairspray-so no flyaway strands) also NEVER wear black gloves, usually dark brown or tan. If wearing a top hat, then a plain coloured stock, wcoat and stock pin. If bowler hat then a shirt, wcoat & tie and tie pin. No coloured browbands in equitation class. Only Concours d'elegance. Lots of tips in the SSA handbook. Hope that helps. Good luck and enjoy.

SSA handbook states dk brown, tan or cream gloves with top hat. Although some judges are relaxed. Have seen canary used, they look smart, although difficult to keep clean.
