Just to say Tobynwoody, as said before on other thread enjoy yourself, it is great fun, but totally agree with Emmajane that it will be hard to win some classes and best stick to gelding classes. I note you were worried about him looking a bit "wimpy"..He's still young so l would say no. However this is what my filly at 2yr old looked like and my gelding as a 2yr old Hope that helps to give you some idea.

I would say let him fill out and muscle up in his own good time, don't be tempted to rush him.

I won't rush him no need to worry there. I bought him 13 mths ago as a bag of bones so to be honest i'm quite proud of him. He is going to be a kids pony at the end of the day so i dont want to rush him in to anything as he needs to be a star at home before he is in the show ring

I think you have the right idea, if you lay the right foundations now, he will be your kids best friend long after they have outgrown him, he's got all his life to go out and win rosettes.
He's a lovely pony and I wish you many years of enjoyment from him.

He is and always will be my little mans best friend he has got 6 previous owners on his passport he was 11 month old when i got him from a market, he will have no more owners added from now on he has a home for life rossettes or no rossettes, i'm not in it for the winning just the fun and the love that we all give each other

I Like you Tobynwoody nice to know that you will not rush him. I also have another pony that just , slightly differant from your boy hasn't made it, he was rescued from the meat man at market as a baby, he was probably more lucky, in the sense that he had just one previous owner, unfortunately they thought he was only good enough for the meat man then l came along and bought him. He is now 7 yrs old, a little demon with character, totally independant but, we love him to death, and he will be going nowhere, and will spend his life with me. Good luck with your man l am sure as Milliesmum has said he will give you years and years of pleasure. They don't have to be rosette machines to be loved..It is great you feel the same way.
