I am totally with you on that one , waste of camera batteries if you ask me. It never used to be like this pre internet. People phoned, people spoke to you, people came to see said animal and either said yes or no. Not wanting 100s of pics, saying they like them then never seeing hide nor hair of them again.

i totally agree...i don't panada to anyone anymore....i tell them when i will be at the yard and they have to fit in with me, if they are that serious about the pony they will make the effort, i will not arrange viewings for a sunday either, due to the sheer amout of "joy riders"

The boot can be on the other foot! I arranged weeks ago to see a pony which is a long way away from us. I agreed to try it after its class at a show we were both going to. I had wanted to see it at home but that didn't suit because they were getting ready for the show next day. They asked me to stay away until after the class - fair enough. The pony was declared for the class then didn't turn up and when I phoned them they were on their way home again having wimped out of doing the class. I am really annoyed! I am seriously looking for a pony and this one might have done the job. Why pay Horsequest if you don't want to sell?

I totally agree, its so frustrating someone phoned me to come and view a pony, they where coming some distance, so i made a lovely hot/cold buffet for them and also bathed the pony etc. It would have taken then about 3 1/2 hours to get to me and they should be with me by about 1 pm.......................12:30 the phone rings........... They cant make it? Never heard from them again!!!!! Then there are those who make you an offer over the phone and ask you what is the lowest you will accept, you agree on a price, they turn up then try to bid you again on the price or stand there sucking in air through their teeth, umming and Arghing !!!!!! Beter still those who do turn up , make an offer which you all agree on, arrange to come and pick up the pony.........and they dont show, No phone calls No emails, and you cant contact them for love nor money? ??and your waiting for them to come and pick the pony up/ ARGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH

And there are those who just fancy a free ride. Saves paying the local riding school. Go and pretend to be buyers, ride the pony and then go home again with no intention of puchasing. We call them Sunday riders as they usually turn up on a Sunday with rubber riding boots on and no hat. They really wind me up and waste so much time.

had my share of that awful breed, 'Sunday waster' I really think that we should put their names and phone numbers up to warn people!!!We have a few dealers in our area, and they have a black list, the last time I had a pony for sale, I spoke to one of them and sure enough 2 of my so called viewers were on the list, they were turned away at the gate.

this makes me so mad! ive just put my pony up for sale and clearly said NO timewasters or noseys and what have i had about 10 pm asking for pictures saying very interested in him send pict never hear off them again people these days are total timewasters and just want to see pict of what people are selling! as if it isint a hard enough decision to sell as it is we now have to put up with this. Im sure if shoe was on other foot they wouldnt like it done to them. ive now decided im not sending anyone any pict if there interested in my pony they can come and see him.

Please don't tar all prospective purchasers with the same brush. I recently bought a lovely filly, and I probably drove the seller wild with so many questions, but I had to be sure and I thought it best to try to find out as much as I possibly could about the pony to be able to make an informed decision whether to progress further, especially as it is to be a young childs pony. I didn't think it would have been reasonable to make arrangements to visit, only for it to come out of the box and me immediately know it was not the one for me. It would have wasted everyone's time and caused disappointment & frustration.
But I can honestly say I wouldn't dream of making enquiries if I wasn't genuinely interested, so can sympathise with those put in that position.

I've just had a complete timewaster and its made my blood boil!
I've have spent at least 4 hours on the phone to her since Sunday, wants to buy my Fell unseen - fair enough he is totally genuine. Agreed a price sent loads of pics - talking to the carrier, she even phoned his breeder.
I've just had a rather rude phone call from her husband to be told that they won't be purchasing my Fell as I know a certain other Fell breeder - talk about guilty via association! This lovely lady may be on my Christmas Card list but that's about it.
If anyone would like the name of this timewaster, who has really wound me up - I will gladly give you her name if you PM me, so everyone else can avoid having to go through what I have.

I can confirm that mnmnmn was certainly not a time waster, and did exactly what a genuine buyer should do, make the effort and actually go and see the pony. Many people judge off poor pictures and miss a good animal.

I'm sadly selling my daughters pony as I have just bought her the next stage up pony and unable to keep her other pony who we have had for 3/4years and has taught my daughter from L/R to F/R and also how to jump. Ive had hundreds of phone calls saying she sounds like the perfect pony then arranges a date to view and never turn up. One lady who we sent a video and pictures to said they wanted her and is coming to see and put a deposit on and then decided she would be to big for there 5yr old daughter. One lady asked if you have to use your leg on her and does she take you to the jumps, I replied think you need a rocking horse. Our pony nos if you have a novice rider on her as she goes into slow mode.
Its so hard for my daughter as she has to ride her for the viewers and gets very upset. If I could keep her I would but I cant afford to keep the 2, plus I got to pay my mum for the new one.

I am having exactly the same problem. Did loads of pics of my baby cob, 3 videos for one woman from yorkshire who then said she would buy over the phone and sort vet out. Rang again the next day, said she wanted to view on saturday, arranged with the yard, no problem. Text friday very late pm to say she wasnt coming. Bloody annoyed!!
Had another lot on the phone for the last two weeks, wanting this and that, were supposed to ring tues night to view this weekend. No call!!!
Got my superstar HW cob advertised, been there done it and won it including reserve champ at HOYS, and yet everyone wants him for 5k!!!! Hello buyers, time to enter the real world!!
I really do detest selling horses. When i'm buying, i will view anywhere as soo much can be disguised in a photo and i will tell someone straight away if i am going to buy or not.
