My 21 year old Welsh Sec B Mare has really foul strong smelling wee and lots of it!....I have to swill her stable daily and disinfect it. She has cushings disease and is currently on Pergolide and seems to be doing well apart from this.. She was checked recently by the vet and there was no sign of a urinary infection, she said sometimes it can smell stronger than normal in older mares at different times of the year. I just wondered if anyone else had encountered this problem and is there anything that anyone could suggest that I try. Any help or advice would really be appreciated.

Our wrinkly with cushings wees quite a lot - we've noticed it worse when he is going out of control and might need his medication adjusting, he is highly insulin resistant as well and is on periactin 20 tabs daily.

Our section B mare also has cushings and is on pergolide she too has very strong smelling wee. Maybe something to do with tablets cos usually when drinking more wee not as strong. Saying that she doesnt really drink excessively.
