My beautiful bengal cat Jasmine, died suddenly on Tuesday
She was only 2 years old and a well loved family pet.....
Her loss is made harder , as we do not know exactly what happened to her , she had no visible injuries , other than a small amount of hair loss on the top of her head , but no wounds or bleeding.....She was found by my next door neighbour, under his car which was parked on his driveway...
The last time I saw her was around lunchtime , when she was asleep on the bed , I put some food in her bowl , which she then ate and went out....then she was found around 4pm .
We have just come back from a 2 week holiday , during which time Jasmine was in the local cattery , for her own good as she was prone to getting stuck in garages etc...so we needed to have piece of mind that she would be safe , while we were away.
We picked her up on Saturday afternoon , and she did seem a little disorientated and unsettled , but was eating ok , just not her usual self ( she has stayed in a cattery before , but only for a week , and she was fine after a day or so )
She seemed fine when i saw her on the bed , and then a few hours later she is dead !!!
We have a young westie dog , who loved to play ( if a little rough sometimes ,but never aggressive ) with Jazzie, but the cat would always hold her own and be able to easily deal with the pup.
I took the dog out for a walk around 2pm , so the only time they would have been in contact with each other , would have been just after I had fed Jasmine.....I am just trying to rule things out , and I am pretty sure that the dog was not involved as there were no teeth marks or wounds.
Doesn't make sense .....maybe its just a horrible coincidence , but I can help but think that she was not 'quite right' and this affected her judgement .
We have buried her , I know that vets can do PMs but I didn't want her messed with...and nothing will bring her back anyway
I just wonder if anyone else has been through this , and how do you deal with the 'not knowing'
I also have that awful guilt , as she spent the last 2 weeks of her short life in a 'jail' and probably hated it
She was a lovely , independent , outdoor loving cat ....can't believe that she has gone .......
