Sorry, nothing to do with horses, but this is absolutely doing my head.
My 5 year old takes a water bottle to school. With his name on.
I spoke to the teacher last week, to say that he had told me the other children had drank all his water. Was told that it was an ongoing problem and they knew which children were doing it. So I asked would they keep his water bottle separate and let him ask when he wanted a drink. All goes well until friday, I went to collect him from school, comes out clutching an empty water bottle. Oh says I, you drank all your water. No, says he, Dylan drank it all!
So I went in this morning, quite politely I thought, and asked why this is still happening. Was told that these children have been told not to do it, what more can they do!!!!!
Is it just me? This is so disgusting, my child has a snotty nose and hacking cough, which he must be passing on to the other kids that are using his bottle. And we've all seen the floaty bits in a bottle when kids drink out of it! Yuck!!!!!
Am I over reacting?

I can see where your coming from, disapline seems to be a thing of the pass these days. I suppose health and safety says , no drinking fountains like we had. Apart from him locking his water into his bag what else can you do ? even that poses a risk of him not having a drink ,as the key would be lost, Kids ! I hope you get it sorted and I wish your little one better x

MM dont think your over reacting at all. makes you wonder what goes off in some schools. i'm fortunate my daughters school is brilliant and sorts things out, straight away. dont mean to be teacher bashing but makes you wonder if sometimes they can be arsed to sort problems out.

Thanks folks. The thing that winds me up is that they know which children are doing it!!! It was even suggested to me that I don't send my son with a water bottle if I don't like it! How is that fair? My son doesn't get a drink because someone elses mum can't be arsed to send a water bottle, and their child has no discipline? Aaaarrrggghhh!!!! I am still boiling!!

write a letter saying it's a health and safety hazard and you want a risk assessment done, that should wake them up - then when they say that all kids are banned from taking water bottles, tell them its a health and safety risk and you want a risk assessment done - they'll soon get the message.....

Collected said son from school. Asked if teacher had spoken to the class about water bottles. He said yes, teacher said there had been a mummy in class talking about it this morning, and they weren't to share bottles. I asked him if she had explained why not, he said no.
Why on earth do I bother?

Guess what? Son came out of school tonight, minus water bottle, asked where it was, said 'Dylan drank it all'. First thing tomorrow, when I have calmed down, I'm going to find the headmistress. Next stop Governors, then county hall. Am NOT having it!!!!!
