All ours have learned to do "Trust.....Paid for", when you balance a treat on their nose and they have to wait for the release before being allowed to eat it. The really clever ones throw it in the air and catch it. Daughter does the teaching, starting with the dog lying down and the treat being put on its paw to teach the commands first, progressing to the nose later.

I have taught my dog "friend or predator" We have large solid gates on the yard, i can just see over but he can't.
If someone comes that i know, i say "friend" and his bark is soft and friendly, if it's someone i don't know i quietly say "predator" and he goes ballistic, deep barking and growling.
I taught him with the tone of my voice, soft and high for "friend" low and stern for "predator"
Great for any traveller visits!!! ;D

More or less the same brt. We taught ours 'you tell them' for strangers, and always left the vehicle with a you tell them command on board.

Millie does 'High Fives' for treats. And she does 'wait' and recalls.

Senior dog is half collie and VERY bright, totally home trained. Junior dog appears to be a saluki, and isn't bright, so we took him to puppy training classes, partly to expose him to some outside world as well. He learned everything except going through a tunnel which freaked him out, but did it all in slow motion, very funny. One day the instructor asked for volunteers to be guinea pigs for an exam for new would be dog trainers, so we took both of them, rescue saluki as a problem for the candidates (one failed because of not handling nervous rescue dog correctly and putting him at risk from another dog) and senior dog just to up the numbers. She LOVED it, could do it all without any problem at all and had a ball.

Mine is part collie aswell so I find training is generally his forte Any dog can do it you just have to find their motivation, collie x works for toys lol Have had trouble with teaching roll-over though as he is collie x rottie and don't think his build really allows it EmmaJane if he does those bits already at 9 weeks I defanitely think you have a smart one !

The reason a dog has so many friends is that he wags his tail instead of his Tongue.
