:(i have just seen that horse and hound forum are commenting on amateur showing society !!! headline reads ""Now, answer me this - if she really cares about the amateur, why is she out showing her county horses at small local shows every weekend? ... "" whats this all about !!! i can not get in to read anymore for some reason but why are people so unkind  ?? |

i have read the thread on h&h as some one was kind enough to point it out to me, and I replied in great detail and soem capital letters lol and it has since been taken off...dont know why !
i shall fill you all in
someone is slagging me off because i run the ASS and also apparently supposed to compete my world beating horses every weekend at local shows......odd that i run shows at my place evey weekend so dont get out much, one horse has been shown twice this year and the other is a newly broken pony. done 2 locals and rest county as they are on during the week so have been and stood down the end of the line on a really green pony!!!
apparently i only run ass to make money (what a joke) costs me money and lots of time.
someone with a grudge, i know who they are and really just think its sad and pathetic, bit of green eyed monster syndrome i think

i have never heard so much rubbish and yes i dont think is takes a lot to know who it is !! my daughter has attended the amateur showing society champs for the last two years and i would like to say its run extremely well run by andrea and her team and i wonder why they bother with these sorts of comments some times !! anyway keep up the good work and to the person slating this organisation maybe when ypu run something to such a high standard you may then like to comment in the mean time keep your opinions and your green eyes to yourself ,

Please can someone tell me more about this amateur showing society? Is it countywide or just on one site?
We would love to try some showing, especially if its somewhere that people are knowledgeable and would help complete novices without making us feel like dummies. Many local shows here are 'clicky' and it is hard to know how to break down the hostility....

go on to the amateur showing society web site and have a read, and i am sure if you have any queries give andrea a call , number is on the site and i have always found her very approachable and helpful , it is very friendly and not clicky like so many shows these days !!! you can also go to the championships and try and qualify on the saturday morning , everythin you need is on the web site, hope this is of some use to you ?? |

someone is jelous, i had some commets behind my back in real life not on here that i run my shows to make money, in actual fact if my other half knew how much i paid out of his money i would be single !!!! I always end up putting more in the pot than even taking back half the expenses, now we are not well off, my other half works i dont ( well i do volountarily!!!) if yous plit his good wage between 2 working people would be pretty below average, so we are far from well off, but i would never dream of taking money, some people just like to put the cat among the pigeons when you are doing a good job, every show i run, afterwards i get disheartened if we have any moans or complaints, after all when you are dealing with 900 horses in a showing envuironments you will never please them all, but we listen and try to improve and thats all we can do. Ignore them they are very sad individuals, if we ever get a complaint i prefer a POLITE telephone call or email, i dont appreciate being scremed at by hysteric people !!!!

WHAT??? thats crap Andrea ! No one works harder than you. Ive been and watched a few of your weekly jumping comps and you seem to be everywhere.... !! No one works harder and giving us locals easily accessible, quality shows like you do. (not to mention the fact that you support Ex Racers Club classes too)
What a shame that the horse world has to be filled with so many gutless, spineless idiots...

ooohhh dont you just hate some people, i ran my first local show in june and it ctually went really well on the day but i had some grey hairs i can tell you! before the day i had people try to stop the show by ringing the council and reporting me for having a beer tent little did they know it was licensed! then they rang the tack shop that was doing a tack stall and told them not to do it as i was probably just going to get ALL the pre entries money and not bother doing the show???!!!!(please how many people actually pre enter a local show these days?) Then i had a phone call from a lady who had pre entered to ask me if she would get her money back if there were no other entries in her class  Thats a very strange question i said to her, why wouldnt there be any entries in your class andeven if there wasnt then hey youll get a red rosette! She then proceeded to tell me who it was that was doing all the stirring and that they were telling everyone that i would have no insurance and no first aid coveretc etc, i could go on all day! Beleive me by the week before i was ready to quit id just had enough i started this show to give local novice people somewhere to show that was friendly as i dont think there are enough local shows i didnt start it to get a load of abuse!! They even turned my sponsor of the supreme championship against me. Anyway the day went really well we had 67 horseboxes come through the gate, and people actually coming up to me and congratulating me on a fantastic day that made it all worth it. As emma jane said i spent more than i got back but hey it was worth it to stick two fingers up at the idiots that said i wouldnt do it, however they didnt leave it there they threw one of the big wooden signs over th hedge that had been pointing people to the show, it came straight into the childrens ring, luckily no one was hurtbut i hope they feel very proud of themselves!!  |

with regard to the amateur showing soicety and the idiot who caused a stir on horse and hound forum !!! you should of been at the amateur showing society champs last weekend it was first class , so your jealous streak that made you write such a nasty article got you absoulutley no where as we all had a fab time and cant wait for the next,

My co-organiser from Great Chart went to ASS Champs this summer and had a fab time - we both cant wait to run qualifiers at our winter series of shows at Great Chart, Kent, for your winter championships. Apparently lots of people that qualified with us went up this summer and all had smiley faces and enjoyed themselves hugely.
At Great Chart we are regularly having competitors muttering that we are 'coining it' but we are more like EmmaJane in that we rob peter to pay paul to keep the shows running.
