She is now 6 weeks old, and we haven't been to see her for a while as the owners of the land live on site and are with her 24/7!! Anyway to our complete shock she has gone grey!! the reason we are shocked is because neither of the parents are grey, the first grey in pedigree is the mares grandma!! mum is chocolate dun, dad is dark brown/bay!! she was born light bay: and 6 weeks later: i don't mind her being grey, i think it makes her even more special!!

Thanks gadabout, she is by our own 13.2H stallion, Highmead Significance, and out of a homebred mare, Langwedh Chantilly Rose, who is by a son of Copybush Catchphrase. we are so pleased with her, she is our 3rd generation of langwedh, and we lost her grand-dam (also homebred) in a tragic road accident at a very young age of 7 so seeing as this is a filly she is deffo staying!!

That would be why your guy is grey, they say that for a pony to go grey, they MUST have at least one grey parent. This fillies mum is Choclate dun, dad is dark Bay, the first grey in her breeding is 4 generations back!!! puzzling or what!!
