SURPRISE SURPRISE sec a champ john russell gartconnell with the favour returned after the SOE. Mrs James judging and making him champ! Well, well, that in my book is akin to blatent crookedness and totally facey judging, they no doubt had tea and a chat beforehand!! It will be interesting to see what happens at the Royal welsh now with John Russell showing a ridden pony under K. James in a HOYS qualifier, then THAT favour will be no doubt returned at Edenbridge and Oxted. These two people's integrity should be above question as they are both members of the WPCS council, and what example does this give to other members of the WPCS and the NPS ?? I'm sure a disciplinary hearing will follow.......HA! but i expect it will be swept under the proverbial carpet!!!

If you expose tham they will dump you or say horrid things to other judges who will then dump your ponies as well. The sad thing is they don't appear to care about how things look to outsiders. As long as they win they are happy.

Joan and TLC your both dead right WPCS have been going through a review to reduce council, and i think one of the proposals was that no council member can also be on the judges panel at the same time. Of course those members of council who are only there for their own gain are the ones that shout loudest about modernisation and fairness for the members!! I really really hope this thread gets back to both Kathleen James and John Russell and they have a thread of shame about how low they need to go to win. The WPCS really do need to take a stand or they will loose any respect that the members have left for them!!! But then again .... oh ... there goes a flying pig

Agree with you all regarding section A matter. But it wasnt just the champion envolved in the clique, the reserve as well, who are even worse sometimes. I think its so sad that showing is going down this avenue of cliques and who butters who up. Of emailing and phoning eachother before shows, having dinner parties etc etc. It such a shame. And to people who are good and honest and have top quality ponies, what hope do they have nowdays with such a click about. You know when you turn up for a show and their lorry is their or you see a pony entered in their name that you might as well go home as they usually arent there if they arent 99.9% sure of a win. Will there be showing in 20 years if this continues?? something the wpcs should really look at carefully.

The saddest thing if this news is right is that these people breed beautiful ponies and shouldn't need to give favours. They should be happy to win and share the glory knowing they'll always be there or there abouts.

Well done Sam!! See, i told you you didnt need me out of the way...!! Olympia qual at N'leach next eh?!
Sam is lucky enough to have Ruffellette ( Sp) on loan for the season. Jackie has a yard of very nice ridden C ponies so assume that she cant do them all. Congrats to all concerned.
Any idea who won the D's pls?

On the results page from the show, the Conn/NF class is showing Sydserff Lord of the Dance as 3rd (not 5th) but doesn't say who was 4th! Very strange!

Winner of the connie/nf picton section wrong legged TWICE in it's individual Shocking judging & the two "judges" had a barney in the ring in front of all the competitors, not sure what about though as too far away.

This crooked judging has got to stop. Is it as prevalent(sp) in the C & D's as seems to be in the A & B's?? At Northleach last year. Every 1st place in the B's i noticed from the results list was a judge?? And sometimes they do have nice ponies as pervious guest stated but at other times the ponies do not warrant such a high placing. But the million dollar question is how is going to be stopped?? The only small consolation (sp) I can see is that sometimes you hear of people viewing outside of the ring come up to owners and say 'they should have one'. From observering I think some really good quality ponies are not given the rewards they deserve.

I belive the only way to cut down the favour judging is to limit ALL judges to a maxamium of 3 shows county level or above in any one year, and extend the mileage between shows to 75 miles or more, you have many, many good judges on all sections of the wpcs panel that are seldom used, the reason being the majority of them will only judge the ponies or cobs not the stud or the handlers, it would also help if producers of other peoples ponies were banned from the judges list and becoming a trustee on council. This only my oppinion, but I'm sure this would encourage many more people to enter shows feeeling that they have a least got a chance, we do need to enjoy showing our ponies other wise it may be time to walk away, and I do'nt want to do that.

County Shows choose their judges at committee so no one person is responsible.
