Was a bit miffed as to what the judges where up to in the hoys m&m as ponies that where pulled in the top few in some classes ended up nowhere while ponies that were not pulled ended up in the line up in some classes:-X wasn't the case in all the classes but i didnt think that they had a clue what they were pulling in. good to bring some ponies up shows they are counting marks but other times they were just looking at a familiar face. i did feel in some classes they looked overwhelmed by the amount of ponies circling them. Oh yes i agree looking for familiar faces....... perhaps for some security???

I personanlly don't think the judging (welsh mountain ponies)at 3 counties was corrupt, a little muddled but that's not a crime. I was stood with a few other judges around the ring and the consenus of opinion was that the stallion was a worthy Champion. I wish people would stop looking for alternative reasons and start looking at the ponies. Perhaps the moaners would like to suggest an alternative champion and give their reasons!? Or maybe most of you weren't there watching?

We're not moaning simply highlighting facts and obvious flaws in the showing world. Why dont you open your eyes and stop being so naive.

perhaps you are part of the clique??? i agree with sec a, this needs sorting out NOW!! SHOWING AS IT IS, NEEDS AND OVERHAUL!!!!! It is hard enough to get newcomers into the sport as it is, and when this sort of thing goes on it puts people off, therefore showing will suffer as a result, for those that have a genuine love of the sport, and a love of the ponies, the disallusion is really starting to creep in, i heard several people mention they would not bother again.

The middles was won by Julie Guy's Section C. It is a Peasedown PP pony but I can't remember which. It was ridden by Peppa Barnett. There were no clears in the massive class but the rain was dreadful!!

I am not nor ever will be part of any cliche, all I care about are the ponies. I will not show under anyone who does favours and I hope not to show under an idiot more than once! I have a right to my opinion and just because it differs from yours... that in it's turn does not make me naive. I just feel that sometimes people look for some other reason why a judge puts a pony up instead of thinking they might actually like that pony. I have found that most people have rose coloured spectacles about their own ponies and cannot see their faults. You cannot legislate against peoples opinions, the only way you can deter crooked judging is by not showing under those judges

re the two m/m open ridden judges, they were not bend just did not seem to have any knowledge of quality, conformation manners or way of going the highland and d were very nice ponies they did manage that but by watching the classes well I would not put a decent pony in the ring there was no pattern or reason for any of their judging the better the pony went or looked the lower they were put, just not a clue. where have all the good judges gone that know what good ponies should look like and know anything about good basic schooling and way of going.

This is the problem with the judging of the hoys qualifiers the best ponies are not qualifying. Did not two of the ponies that qualified have connections with the west country.

Have to agree if a pony in the Hoys Smalls Sec went well it was put down, Sorry to offend but it was an Open class but the winner did go like a F/R along with others in the line up all quite bizarre we need Open ponies to go like Open Ponies Who could make rhyme or reason out of the Connie Section...beyond comprehension that class, shocking how one grey ended up in the line up as it completely stuffed up its show
Champion Highland was deserved so maybe they did go around the world to find it but the right pony was Champion on the day

Really expected better from these two judges.

completely agree. the ridden c hoys was one of the worst though - not mentioning names/places but some in the line up had rolls of fat and others decided to canter across the diagonal

We didnt do that well in the ridden classes but got 1st in our inhand class. Thought he was a little flat in his ridden classes, was a bit disapointed with them but at end of day there's always tomorrow but the HOYS was strange judgeing for some of the classes. Didnt find the marks anywhere for the HOYS classes would like to have seen what we got for our marks.
