Have you any idea how impossible it would be to re~locate a show of this size to an indoor, who decides which classes go ahead and which dont, come on wheres that Dunkirk spirit, after all it's just British Summertime at it's very best !!Weather people have been wrong before at least the entrance to the ground is all proper track its only the last bit that will be skiddy.

Northern Counties Pony Association Staffordshire Branch (Registered Charity No. 264796) Staffordshire Country Festival 30th June 2007 Official Statement As at 27th June 2007 Due to adverse weather conditions a joint decision was made with Walsall council on Tuesday 26th June to NOT hold the show on their ground at Walsall Airport. However, following an emergency meeting on Tuesday, followed by a site visit at 8.30am this morning, by the committee, we have moved the whole show, as is, to Eland Lodge Equestrian Centre. Still on Saturday 30th June Direction for Eland Lodge can be found on the web site www.elandlodge.comNewborough Road Draycott In The Clay Ashbourne Derbyshire DE6 5HD Please note the gates will not be open before 6:30am on the day. It is also hoped that we can have everyone’s co-operation & support, as we have 3 days within which to move sites for this massive one day show! For example please look up directions, using the above rather than phoning one of the 4 committee members Many thanks Tanina Rushton Show Secretary

Witha bit of goodwill and understanding , I'm sure that NCPA Staffs committee will make it fit at Eland Lodge. They are to be applauded for taking on the task of moving a show of this size to a new venue at such short notice.NCPA Main Branch had the Open Show at Eland and it really is a super venue.Good Luck to all concerned and all you competitors get your finger out and use the postcode for your directions (It's far easier than Walsall take my word for it ,Literally 6 minutes off the A50 at Sudbury roundabout.

Fab news that the show is moving to Eland lodge - its a great location - with a huge all weather arena that could easily make 2 good sized rings - would be interesting to know which lucky classes get the arena - maybe the Hoys classes?? The access is very good for lorrys - and parking should be fine Well done to the committee to arrange the move at such sort notice - and i am now really looking forward to sat - big plus for us 20 mins from home!

Thanks to Tanina and her crew. To save you being asked the same questions a dozen times, perhaps you could answer the following:
Which classes are on all weather surfaces?
Are any classes indoors?
Is the timetable/ring numbers the same.
Once again, thanks.

I commend Tanina and the rest of the Committee for their hard work and fantastic communications, although it will be a longer journey for us we will definitely still support the show. Well done for dispersing any rumours so quickly and providing us all with the information we need so promptly. Thank you.

Well done to Tanina and the show commitee for moving the show enabling it to still go ahead at such short notice. Had my phone call from the show to say it was being moved...what a mammoth task that must be ringing everyone.

Please can someone give me some idiot proof directions to the new venue, with my strongest glasses on I cannot make heads or tail of the map on the eland lodge website (could do with being able to magnify it), also tried the AA auto route and that frightened me to death, toll roads and all sorts!! I'll be coming up the M5.
Many Thanks

Rings 6, 9 & 10 are in the menage.
Reason being they have the fewest number of entries, therefore can a) fit in 3 rings b) be finished by 4pm (our deadline to vacate the nmenage as it is booked for a bsja show the following day) (Being attended by my daughter Leandra & her pony lol)
if someone knows how to publish pictures on here I can email them a draft plan of the site

well i wasnt going although i had entered! couldnt face going to walsall in the rain and getting stuck although its only 40 mins from us.
anyway, i am going as eland lodge is literally 10 mins from us!
beware tho folks - we have a severe weather warning in place for tomorrow and saturday!
the menages are fab at eland lodge. a really nice surface.
tanina, i am coming in a car and trailer. is this likely to be a problem for me. daft question and i may borrow my brothers freelander to be sure.
well done for making such a huge decision. also well done to eland lodge for fitting this rather large show in at short notice.

please be aware - the A515 at kings bromley has been shut the last couple of days. this is the main route from lichfield to ashbourne. please check your route before you come. we have more rain forecast!
directions from lichfield a38 - head towards Rugeley on A51. over the lights at Hedghog pub. take right exit at large island. (A515 signposted Ashbourne) keep on this road for about 9is miles and eland lodge should be signposted about 4 miles the other side of Yoxall. you can see the venue from the A515.
hope this helps

Looking at the weather forecast it is going to be SOAKING wet on saturday! Full credit to the organising team for re-arranging everything (trust me I KNOW how hard that it is having done it with our show before!!!).
Wet weather gear at the ready folks. Someone said to us at our show this year - 'The weather isnt bad, you're just wearing the wrong clothes!!!'

Tanina when you rang today to see if i knew about the change of venue i thanked you for finding a new venue so quickly however you did say lets hope the weather holds, i have started thinking what you meant by that, is there any chance that the show may have to be cancelled if we carry on getting more torrential rain as forecast for Saturday

Not sure if anyone can advise me on this, we are travelling from the south up the M5, looking at a map is it easier to stay on the M5 to the M6, leave the M6 at junction 13 pick up the A449 then the A518 where it crosses, then upto uttoxeter and join the A50?
AA route planner is sending us down the M42 and M6 toll ??

The show will only be cancelled if it becomes too dangerous to hold!
We cannot be responsible for the weather, road conditions, flooding etc etc
The Ground at Eland Lodge is in perfect condition to hold a show today!
I think we all need to use our commen sense, keep an eye on the weather, weather forcast, road reports etc etc & make our own decisions on attending on the day!
The show cannot be hold accountavble for these.
fingers crossed
Tanina
