erm nothing has been sorted with my pony thanks so before people start spreading stuff plus willets are from Kent! i'm guessing in the know said wales first for smalls and essex for large? I am going with my intermediate, you have to just go to all of them now as they say you have to be in it to win it. Lets hope an int gets it at least! Hoping the judge will let us do our own shows and mark up ones with a bit of difference!

Yep, I'm going on Saturday with my large ISRT. Hope to see a proper small qualify instead of a show pony and know there are still a few out there. Yes on the Area 16 website, it says the show is still on and is NOT canceled. www.bspsarea16.co.uk/Sorry if I'm not meant to post websites. Good luck to all going. x

Wish people would not say things like they already know who is going to win!. We will have a horse in the ring and certainly hope we are going with as good a chance as anybody. It is very disheartening when I read comments like that.

Well my prodictions were nearly right.Small show riding type 1st Stanley Grange Puppeteer (well done Chloe) Thomases were pulled top but blew it.Large was Time Out, Katie Jerram produces it and judges daughter rides for the yard. What a surprise!!! It is nice to see a real small srt qualify.

BOTH class winners were completely deserved. I was there (had one in the smalls) and picked out both winners, they both stood out.
Congratulations to the both of them, if anyone wants to call it facey then go ahead, but anyone who was watching the classes will know that was not the case! Beautiful horses.

Nil, in reponse to your post no doubt the large winner did look good as did the majority of the class i imagine. My point was that the class winner had allegedly been decided well beforehand.

OK these petty "pre-decided tickets" conversations aren't something I usually get into, but I was discussing how damaging these comments can be with a complete stranger by the ringside today.
We noticed Chloe's horse on the go round and we got chatting (sorry I never found out her name, very nice lady though) as we were both surprised the horse was not initally pulled in slightly higher. I'm not great with faces, but I heard someone say "oh Chloe is in" and put two and two together and realised this was the horse someone on this forum had been suggested already had the ticket in the bag before even walking into the ring. I said to this lady that horsegossip would be surprised she wasn't at the top, and she made the very good following point.
Chloe's pony has more than proved itself in the ring. A horse that has qualified HOYS, qualified (and won!) RIHS and has championships at BSPS etc is obviously a horse of great quality, under many judges. So is it so unbelievable that this horse might go to HOYS again?! Chloe and the pony proceeded to do a consistent and beautiful show and stripped wonderfully, outclassing other competitors. SO she very deservedly won, and the first thing that lady said to me was "poor girl, horsegossip will have a field day". NOW ISN'T THAT A SHAME?? Chloe was obviously delighted to have qualified, smiles all round, and yet she will come home to some comments about how it was predetermined anyway, suggesting that the fact her horse was outstanding meant nothing. Comments like these take away the brilliance of winning a HOYS ticket, and I really hope Chloe doesn't take it to heart.
I don't mean to single you out Chloe, you are not the first and most certainly won't be the last, but I just wish people would stop with the predetermined ticket rubbish. I accept it happens sometimes, but more often than not the horse fully deserves it and it still gets accused of being facey.
I'm sure I've gone completely off the point I am trying to make here, but the conversation I had was very interesting and I really think some of you people should think about the damage you could cause before spilling your hurtful comments IMO..
Congratulations to Chloe and everyone else who gained their HOYS tickets today, finally the sun shone! And the going was perfect.

Maybe both horses did deserve to win but there is no way the large should of even been in the class it is, as previously mentioned produced by Katie Jerram and not only does the judges daughter ride for the yard but the judge herself has and does work for said producer from time to time! you would of thought someone as idolized as Miss Jerram would of had some eticate!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I cannot believe that Katie Jerram needed to put the Intermediate in the ring with Mrs Whiteley judging. It is good enough to qualify but the fact that it was shown under her is disgraceful! She also qualified a connemara under Mrs whiteley this year..... Having picnics round the lorry one week and judging Katies horses the next does not look good!

There is only 1 person to blame here and that is the JUDGE Mrs Whitley she is a DISGRACE, well done Chloe your pony does not need favours and it is a shame you have not qualified before now and it must take away some of the pleasure if people were saying that you was up to win under such a crooked judge i hope you win another qualifier.

Thank you to everyone who has congratulated us - obviously I am biased but I think Chloe and Snippy deserved their win and I am so pleased for Chloe as she was concerned about not being able to ride mid-week as she starts a new job at the start of the month - and would have had to 'jockey' Snip. She has never not qualified her own ride and gets so much pleasure from her rides and as this is her last season this is really special to us. We certainly did NOT expect to win but hoped to go well and on the way to the show Chloe has asked me what had been her top ride mark to date - she determined to try and go better and she did a wapping 58 for ride! Full marks to the judge for not taking the 'easy' option when faced with huge classes of quality horses but asking competitors for a 'proper' int. show and moving several right up the line in the smalls. Chloe had a great day as she also qualified Louise Burton-Taylor's Int.SHT Countryman 11 for HOYS - totally unexpected! Again he put in a fantastic show and moved up from 6th - we are thrilled for Louise who owns Colin and produces him totally from home. He certainly is not a 'face' just a good, honest Irish hunter. We certainly intend to enjoy HOYS whatever, we hope our horses go well and we intend to party as it is Chloe's last season. I wish everyone GOOD LUCK but please remember to smile and enjoy it - we will!! You might see tears from us that will not be because of the results - it will be because it is the end of an era.

Hi Chloe
I don't come on here but mum said there was some gossip about you!!! Oh my god she was right!! You are more famous than Paris Hilton hehehehe!! I'm over the moon for you that you won with Snip, there was no way he wasn't going to qualify but I know how it feels when you see everything else qualifying around you!! From reading the above it seems like you were a worthy winner but that was a bit naughty in the large, if I was the judge I would have asked them not to go under me to save any embarrassment on all parts but each to their own. If there is no rule about it then they did nothing wrong but I would much prefer to qualify on merit and not because the judge works on the yard that my horse is kept on, if that is correct! oopps!! No offence to Kirstie, it sounds like your horse went well.

The winner of the 128cm Show Pony was Katie White (i think the one that won RIHS but not to sure as didn't see it. Second was Broadgrove Serenade. Winner of 138cm was Chloe Willet on thomas's 2nd Henrietta Spenser's bay. I think they are correct, didn't see the classes, just using another website. I know the 122cm show hunter pony was Colby Starglow and the 133cm was Hindleap Sweet William, he was also reserve. Big well done to Hannah and Billy, so proud of you to. Also big well done to Chloe and Snip, nice to see a proper intermediate qualify and you really deserved it . xxx
