The marks if I am correct showed the 3rd placed pony with the highest ride mark being 46. The pony that was the eventual winner had 42 for ride. Therefore the judge is at fault for concluding that a pony that gave probably the worst performance in the class (apart from one other) was worth a mark of 42. Would have presumed that an experienced judge such as this would have awarded marks according to performance. The conformation judge also decided that the biggest weight carrying pony in the class was worth the highest mark of 49 making it almost perfection. Not knocking the girl that won the class and good luck to her at Hoys. Just highlighting a few facts. A bit of northern skullduggery I think.

I was not there so cannot comment on how each of the ponies went but I do feel that an automatic system of taking marks off for wrong legging it should be introduced. For example take off 5 marks for the wrong leg and then evaluating it for the rest of its performance for the overall ride mark.

I agree ride judge is totally off his rocker. Unfortunately I was unable to go, and there has not been much said about the 'D' class, I knew one or two people in this class, what was the top 5 please, were they well deserved. thanks...

anyone else agree that the ride judge was completely of his rocker? x x I don’t agree. RS did a half reasonable job with the odd blip or two. The Clayton woman on the other hand was on some sort of mission. You only had to look at the marks to suss that one out. People like that should not be allowed to judge IMHO.
