Sorry notsourgrapes, I think the initial confusion with this thread as which supreme has cheated, although it's obviously the in hand once you read the thread. Nobody is condoning or supporting this Have you reported it to the BSPA? But will bspa listen to its members? .I think the supreme in hand should be rightfully handed to the reserve .Who ever it was (anyone know )

Who wants a used up old sash and a title when it's been and gone? It takes seconds to google, and organisers should be on the case anyway. It's not hard. An example could be set here. But I bow out of showing with my head held high. I am not resentful just done in.

I totally agree sourgrapes the moment of glory has gone What got the reserve ? I would have been so upset if it were mine .The society surely must of known what the supreme had achieved and still let it enter in the amateur class.

I don't understand - you say you aren't bothered but are clearly bothered enough to write on here. Nothing will ever change though unless you complain to the right people - the BSPA. If you aren't bothered enough to do that then I'm sorry but I don't see the benefit of moaning on here?
This is one thing that gets to me, people moaning on the Internet when they should be writing to the society concerned. If the facts are right then something has to happen.

I most definately would be bothered if it were me .No good complaining to BSPA.They do not listen to its members .They should not have let the entry go ahead obviously they know said pony is not an amateur. So competitors have to post on here to let others know whats going on.The cheating has to stop with the help of societies.

This matter has gone on everywhere, will continue to go on and these people who do such things will always find a way around it, if complaints are put forward they find a way to word there response to make out the person complaining is in the wrong, if cash is paid and nothing declared and clients lie through their teeth to support there stories how the hell do the societies smell or out the rats

That's very harsh to the ladies who run the BSPA, whenever I have called them they have always been very helpful and easy to talk. I don't think it's right to slate them before anyone has even tried to inform them and see what they say!
And how are thy supposed to know who is eligible or not in each class? Surely it's the competitors responsibility to enter the correct class and be truthful. I can't see how any society can be expected to police this but have to rely on competitors entering into the true spirit of the class
Please don't all shoot the society down!!!

Why doesnt someone send a link to this thread to the BSPA they can read and decide if they want to respond or take further action, it may fall on deaf ears however if this matter doesnt get brought to their attention how can they act?

BSPA have just posted on Facebook that it has been brought to their attention & amended results will be posted!! So they obviously listened to someone!

Thus proving mine and others point - put your complaint in writing to the society and give them the opportunity to deal with it!!

Thus proving mine and others point - put your complaint in writing to the society and give them the opportunity to deal with it!! Do you know for a fact that this action was taken on the back of a written complaint? No I don't - someone said that the BSPA had read this thread and action had been taken. Whether it was as a result of them reading this thread or if someone had written to them I don't know. In a way I hope someone has written in otherwise have they taken action based purely on this thread, with anonymous posters giving their thoughts - hardly a robust complaints procedure and not 'legal' in the eyes of their rule book??? I don't know. Others had said that there was no point writing to the BSPA as nothing would be done - clearly this isn't the case so that's my point. If you feel strongly enough to complain about something, do it the right way by writing a letter to the relevant society. This doesn't just go for this complaint btw!

If you read the facebook page it states the competitor in question has withdrawn from all classes and championships not that they have been stripped of their wins

But according to the FB page, this outcome is a result of the competitor withdrawing therefore the reserve taking it by default as opposed to the BSPA being proactive. However, the BSPA may have been completely unaware of the issue and the first they knew about it was when the competitor withdrew

By saying the competitor had withdrawn is usually a tactful way of both sides playing nicely nicely!! Doesn't necessarily mean the competitor rung and withdrew after a bit of social media gossip

There was an official complaint and the BSPA took action the competitor was given the opportunity to withdraw or be disqualified she chose the former.

Regard less as to whether this thread had a part to play in the outcome of this debacle, or whether it was due to an official complaint , voices have been heard , and BSPA have on this occasion listened and actioned , and the outcome has been a positive one for those who have been done out of a well deserved championship , and lap of honour, and to those who think that they can pull the wool over unsuspecting eyes , because they think they can , let this be a warning in the future ,that cheating is not acceptable in anyway shape or form , today , tomorrow , or any other day

To the petty people in the horse world. I think you should all realise that the handler in question is 19 years old and what you are all doing here is called bullying. She was told by the secretary at the show she could compete in the class she went in after telling her she did take money from breaking and schooling horses but she said as diesel was home produced she could still compete. People should get their facts right before opening their mouths.

Now you see where things start to go wrong ,,,,,,, the second post in this post , from a Guest clearly states she was able to enter as the pony was NOT , home produced , then the post above from another Guest , states she COULD enter because she WAS home produced,,,,,, so Who's facts are correct , and who@s arent ,,,, but the fact of the matter is that someone somewhere along the line has made a BIG mistake

Yes the society. Which has resulted in the bullying of a young girl by petty people.

I have been reading this thread and there is something that disturbs me. Why did notsosourgrapes not put in a formal objection at the show when it happened? Surely that is the only fair and correct way to deal with a complaint! It is very unfair to all competitors and disrespectful to the BSPA and Horse & Hound reporter to have not done that and to then do it via here. It is not fair to put them in such an embarrassing situation when it could've been dealt with immediately.

A lot of producers own thier own horses as well as producing for others. The fact remains that the person is a producer!

Regardless of this the competitor was truthful with the secretary at the show about her status and was told that this was the class she should go in. Making it the society's fault not the competitor.

Does this mean the society doesn't mind breaking its own rules? Surely the competitor could see home produced is no stallions?

Why is it when someone has been caught with their hands in the cookie jar the bullying card always played? Nothing here is remotely like bullying.
Or it is always someone else's fault - never the perpetrator. Double whammy with this one!
19 yrs old is an adult, not a child and I would respectfully suggest if you are not mature enough at that age to be able to read and comprehend the rules then you really should not be taking money for breaking schooling or producing the horses of others.
IMHO of course!
