i have to say that i am not sure its morally correct to compete at an area show that you are on the commitee of / or that your partner is on the commitee of ? surely the commitee have a say in picking the judges ......maybe this is the way to get your HOYS tickets these days ?

This is a difficult one! I personally think that whoever is in a class has to perform to win - especially in the very strong HOYS qualifying classes, regardless of who the judge is.
I don't know the rules for this society but if no rules are broken then you can't do anything about it. On the other hand, if people felt very strongly about this they should be brave enough to object officially.

Didn't see all of the SHP classes - just the 14 and 15h - both winners did foot perfect shows, certainly didn't buck. The 3rd placed pony in the 15h went on the wrong leg 3 times and still received a high show mark (also had a very good conformation mark, hence its placing I guess). Don't know the ponys name. Quite a few other ponies made mistakes in both classes and also quite a few didn't gallop but mostly these were down the line I think. Happy to be corrected if I missed anything

Haven't been to this show before but found it well organised, good atmosphere. The classes ran fairly speedily and everyone was helpful. Watched most of the SHP Classes though I didn't see anyone buck. Would definately go again despite being stuck in the Bank Holiday traffic on the way home. Feel 2 2nds were worth it. Proud of our novice 4 year old.

we went , but werent there for long as were in t shirts and shorts and had no jumpers or coats so when the sun went in we were freezing lol ! Watched the conni section of the Olympia , there were only six in it, and then the hairys ...there were millions in the hairys !! Ground was good and it was a well organised show but we also got stuck in bank hol traffic there and back .

Thank you for your comments - Clearly you do not wish to identify who you are. For clarity the judges are selected by our Vice Chairperson Janet Bushell who does not compete. Nobody else on the commitee has any say in the matter Maybe if more people came forward to assist in running the show then we wouldn't be in this predicament...........
