The HFD class was judged appallingly. The top 8 or 9 where stripped regardless of how they went? The rest were asked to leave after each one had completed their individual show despite many performing better. Most exhibits left to be placed made novice errors in their shows yet were not penalised. Bad judging IMHO. it must have been a very difficult class to judge as there were so many in the class , and the judge had to split them on the go round . I think the fact that the eventual winner of this section (who has already been to HOYS and Olympia in the past ) also went on to take the championship and the covetted Olympia ticket speaks for its self ! well done Tracey & Ben , i think it was a very difficult class , very well judged

I would like to congratulate Nps Area 5 for a great show yesterday! We had a great time and a good win and championship! One thing marred the whole experience for us in that a nice lady who was unknown to us had won a class in the hack breeding (with what can only be described as an outstanding hack mare full of quality and a true hack type.Would love to add it to our broodies!) She asked if we could run it for her in the championship as she had 2 weeks before due to a freak accident punctured her lung and found trotting the mare uncomfortable and left her a little breathless. We of course were only too pleased to help and swapped numbers and rossett and off we went thinking nothing was amiss! Only to be told by the ring steward that the judge thought it was against the rules to swap handlers! Even though the steward said she had allowed it to happen in previous sections! The lady owner was agast as were we! Never heard that before in an In hand ring! cant find that in the rules either......... the poor lady had to do a quick swap of numbers and get on with showing her mare! I think it was totally out of order that the judge after being told of the circumstances still made the poor lady run her mare out!..............What is the world coming to? ??
