But breeders are not being restricted! It is simply one rider to qualify and ride at the final, and are you suggesting that the NPS membership who voted for the change are in any way short of brain power to not have thought this through properly! I am aware that you personally don't like the change of rule but I think you just have to grit your teeth and put up with it, the same as ordinary members have had to put up with all the producers taking multiple qualifiers. I disagree that there will be less good ponies forward just lesser known faces on board.

I agree with everything you say, I thought I was the only one whoc couldnt understand why people kept moaning on about it being a restricted competition now. It's not restricting the animals competing, and do you antis really think that there are only a handful of riders in the whole country capable of riding at Olympia?! So if your producer rides and qualifies multiple ponies under the old rules, you may end up with a different rider doing the job at Olympia. Why not have this different rider do the qualifier too?? You can still have your pony "produced" under the new rules, just witha different jockey. Any pro worth their salt should be able to polish a partnership, and most have stable jockeys willing to take the rides. I'm sorry but I think the antis are worried about not having the 'face' on board. There's no shortage of talented jockeys out there, but everyone wants their pony ridden by the elite few. Back on topic - well done to Mathew and Marksman on taking the qualifier - stunning pony

I am just curious which producer qualifies multiple ponies for Olympia because I have racked my brains and cannot think of any !!!!!!!!! All I do know is that so far this year all the tickets have been taken by professionals so no change there .

foxylady - examples of producers who have qualified multiple ponies in the same year previously include Sam Roberts (2008 - Lady Paula, Blue Danube), Matthew Lawrence (2006 - Castle Ri, Glyndwr) and Aimee (&^%$ (2007 - Judge, Governer).
But there certainly have not been many, and of course the producer cannot ride more than one pony at the finals anyway.
