What a shame for the connie in 2nd, same points. Lovely pony. Would love to have had a measuring stick handy today in all classes. Refreshing to see 'producers' not having it all their way.

I have just got in from a LONG day, I drove for hours and spent £150 on fuel to compete in a class!!! I am not saying my pony should have won but I cannot see the point in showing or breeding top class native ponies to be met with this kind of CHEATING!! I do not expect to win everytime out but just want to be judged in a fair and knowledgable way.
I have a bad taste in my mouth and no this is not sour grapes but the judge lived yes lived with the rider of the winning highland and yes also put him to win Olympia on another highland only six months ago both totally different types of Highland!!!
It is just not on, people are really going to get sick of showing their ponies and this will be the end of showing it is just not on to show under someone that you actually "lived with" I am sorry I am not bit*hing but think this is totally outrageuos and I would have thought more from the owner of this pony than to go along with this kind of behaviour.

i do agree that this is out of order, unless you are in the know you wouldnt know who lives with who. i wouldnt dream of doing that. It does make you feel a little despondent and a total waste of money. A bit close for comfort

Most dont complain as it falls on deaf ears. Even if they do listen nothing gets done about it.

Well done Emma love your connie he looked fab nice shape and not fat!!!
The c's are getting bigger and looking more like d's! I felt a bit swamped in there on my small c but she stil got a good ride mark and overtook some of the big ones! He he!!! Measuring sticks out that's what i say!!!!!
The conformation judged really had a huge spread of scores!!! Think they varied from 26 to 46!! Ride score varied by about 10 points.

my first visit to 3 counties and thoroughly enjoyed it.
Judges did a great job and the winners of all classes stood out for me, performances really shone through ( esp the D winner) Non facey judging & defo no complaints here ( no i didnt win, i got x2 highly condemmed which im pleased with)With regards to the winning highland, it wouldnt of mattered who was on him he is gorgeous and went very well - ive seen another rider on him and he goes the same.
CONGRATS to all who qual and judges alike.

Buttercup, This post started with a notice of Judge change, what do you expect people to do, just not compete because of an extremely old connection.Mr Robertson is an extremely consistent judge with an excellent eye for good breed type. The highland in question is stunning and beautifully produced.Get a liofe and stop moaning!
On a lighter note, Massive congrats to Elizabeth and ERNIE!! yOU CAN HAVE THE REST OF THE SEASON OFF!! X

Yes they do need to measured for hoys this year, I’ve had my Connie and waterside Ben II measured on the off chance the measuring might come in for hoys as it is all ready compulsory for Olympia
A few weeks after qualifying hoys I got a letter saying I had to send my entre with current height certificate. I sent my height certificate with my entre for Olympia and it was back within a few days
I felt the c looked very big and I hope its measures because the girl riding the pony was absolutely gob smacked she had qualified and it would be a massive shame for her to lose it.

funny how no one complained about him competing at Olympia!! Complain? What's the point? It falls on deaf ears. Know this was a HOYS class but nothing will get done whilst that NPS lady needs a jockey. Relationships, dopin, drugs you name it all the societies turn a blind eye as long as those who are officials have a winner. Why is showing the only equine sport to allow it. Sunday Sport could have a field day. Unless something shocks and exposes all the crooked goings on you can forget any change.
