Well the results are up on the Chaps website for the Royal Highland, and Earthquake, which was a class winner, is not listed as a HOYS qualifier. Apparently they broke the rules on two counts... www.chapsuk.com/Qualified_Horses_and_Ponies.html

how habe they broke the rules, what went on?? seemingly the rider wasn;t a member, and the hoys number on the entry form was somewhat fictional an entries secy on another forum said that although CHAPS are offered the hoys numbers for competitors entered, aren't interested in checking the validity of these numbers prior to competitions... chaps are a joke.

HUGE CONGRATULATIONS to Mr Hendrie of the TOWER highland pony stud on his Supreme Champion TOWER GYPSY MEG (lovely pic H&H) ... we have Gypsy Meg's brother TOWER HECTOR (they look like twins!) and we absolutely adore him ~ 7yrs old Hector loves life and enjoys everything from giving pony rides, wading in the sea to partying in the evening performances ... besides competing in ridden m&m's Hector has just made a successful start in m&m workers .. can highly recommend Mr Hendrie's beautiful ponies

It would appear that the Native/Traditional/Cob Horse class has now been resolved www.chapsuk.com/News.html 3. To discuss the Disciplinary Case 0904, Improper HOYS Entry It was unanimously agreed that F Menzies was guilty of breaking the rules for entry into HOYS classes It was agreed that she should be disqualified from the class and her placing as there is no current HOYS number for her horse. She must be stripped of the class placing, which should be the responsibility of the Royal Highland. It was also agreed that a fine of £250 is to be imposed, to be paid within 28 days of the date of the letter (to be sent recorded post). She is suspended until the payment of the fine. If the fine is not paid within 28 days, the matter will be referred back to the Disciplinary Committee.

I'm not sorry to say BUT thats excellent news, if she is going to cheat this is how she should be treated! Wonder if Turriff show will do the same! Theres no place for cheaters in this game, its cut throat as it is ;D

There was a rumour going around, still is which is still to be verified or denied by Turriff that due to a load of complaints this same person was being stripped of her winnings from Turriff as the judge in the ridden hunter class is actually her instructor....... still not been able to get hold of anyone to find out if it is true and did put a post on here(under "Turriff Show") asking if anyone else had heard the same?? Heard this when up at the Black Isle and when I was down at Scottish Horse Show.

Hopefully, now CHAPS have addressed this situation, it will make others think twice before doing anything of a similar nature. I think the fact they have named and shamed them is fantastic, more societies should take note.
