Saturday photographer was hugely rude about quality and lack of entries and also thought all judging in general was fixed. Never met him before but took my breath away he was so rude.

Never met him before but took my breath away he was so rude. ;)He is generally like that!!!! I can tell you the PBA's were not fixed, never ever been judged by Mr Conifey and we were 2nd! Did you go on sat Hollycane?

wendbarry1,I have got to agree with you regarding PBA's.We have never been under Mr Conifey,he put us champion over a produced horse who came reserve, what a lovely feeling.Hollycane I think your comment about fixed judging is definitely not justified in PBA classes.

Yes.we came 2nd to you,Star has'ent done many shows, this is her first season under saddle. She was pulled in 3rd in her first HOYS at Chard yesterday ,she ended up fourth ,10 in the class, so we were very pleased.Lauren is only 11 yrs old,she only had one season on her 128 SP,had to move up on to 138 as she is so tall.We have only had Star for 4 months ,so we are so proud of Lauren and Star with what they have achieved in such a short time.

wendbarry and joules sorry my comment was that the photographer who was in my ring thought all judging in general was fixed as opposed to me! He was sooo rude. Never met him before! Thought Cherif were the strongest classes. Some lovely horses and ponies and very worthy winner and champ and reserve. Only went Saturday. No fixits there. All ringside "judges" agreed with John Conifey's decisions. But it must have been a tough one as they were all good.

There is nothing in the cherif rules that stop a produced horse or pony from qualifying - maybe they had already qualified, or didn't have a card.

Fab, well done. It's really hard when so young and so tall. Georgia is 12 on a 15hh!! Your pony really is a "Star", you have some talented kids there, especially on a little grey pony! XXXXX

december1, you may be correct but 1st placed def said coudn't qualify due to being produced. Hollycane, the piccie man is allways the same, just plain rude. Perhaps he should have been a judge rather than a photographer!!!!!! Perhaps people thought he knew more than he did after those comments, stupid man. Doesn't he realise that he could upset people with stupid comments like that!

Am somewhat shocked with this one - - Antony Reynolds has been around a long time and has seen a great many animals over the years. On this occasion he may have been right, he may have been wrong (to say what he has been quoted as saying) - BUT - he certainly isn't (and here I quote)"STUPID" (close quote)

If he thought that he should have reported it to the show sec or the relevant society so that it could be dealt with, NOT TO A COMPETITOR for it to end up on here for open discussion, surely that would constitute "STUPID COMMENT" ?? Modified to say- stupid for making a stupid comment!

Apologies for going on about the first placed saying that they couldn't qualify as the horse/pony is produced, and I'm sure that those that did qualify were worthy of the qualification. There are many "produced" horses and ponies that do qualify, and enter the final. They don't always win which is all because of the way the final is judged.
