With reference to the comments made on here about pebbles at the royal welsh we thought it might be nice to put across our views, firstly there really was no need to remove the thread about the royal welsh to protect us we were quite enjoying all of the comments that were posted, everyone is entitled to there opinion be it right or wrong. Firstly we would like to thank the many people who have sent their congratulations this does mean a great deal to us, as we have said in the past our stud breed and show ponies that we like, they may not be perfectly suited to the breed description but everyone has their own interpretation of this anyway. The royal welsh has always been the biggest stage for showing in hand welsh ponies with by far the biggest crowd watching, many of these are paying to see a performance and this is what we try to give with our ponies, not everyone thinks movement and action are the most important thing about a welsh mountain pony and I for one hope it stays like this, the world will become a very dull place when we all like the same thing, however when our ponies trot along the grandstand and I hear the applause I get a great feeling of satisfaction and like everyone who enters the ring we like to win but this is only one judge's opinion on one day. We have been extremely lucky at the royal welsh up to now but this has not come without the dedication and hard work of a lot of people especially both mine and Liz's parents, without them none of this would be possible. I only wish I could share the secret of pebbles movement but there just isn't one, most we think comes from her sire taliaris granite, she has done it from a foal and just keeps getting better, she just seems to enjoy it. As for being artificial she has been one of the easiest ponies to do, after breakfast she is turned out and comes in before her dinner this has hardly changed all her life, this may be hard to believe but she has never been on a lunge rope in her life we just don't need to. I'm afraid if anyone thought they saw her with inch thick shoe's on they are mistaken we have shod ponies with lightweight plate's in the past but never her. If anyone thought she was an undeserved champion this year then I can only apologise but I thought under the appalling condition's she gave a pretty good show and I'm afraid her throwing her head up now and again was down to me struggling to keep up !! The stud is always open to visitors and if you don't like pebbles now you will when you meet her as she is the sweetest pony anyone could wish for. If the moderators want to put the thread back on by all means do if anything worries us I will contact one of you. Many thanks Mark & Liz Idyllic Stud...

Firstly, congratulations on Pebbles' success.
I don't know yourselves or the pony, but I do greatly believe that the judges decision is final and you obviously bloody deserved your win with your pony. Well done !!
There is far to much 'sourness' in showing these days and it was so sad and disgusting that the judging at the Royal Welsh was being run down on here last week whilst the show was still going on and whilst lots of classes were still to be judged. Disgraceful !!!
Some of these supposed 'ringside experts' need to start keeping their comments to themselves as there is no need to spread such mallicious gossip and nastiness all the time. It can be very hurtful to competitors at the heart of their allegations and can damage reputations for a long time.
Wouldn't mind, but half of them have never judged a dead donkey, never mind a class at such a prestigious show !!
Well done to you all ..... here's hoping your success continues and Pebbles continues to do you proud !!

Great result and stunning pony, what more could you ask for !!!! I read the Royal Welsh comments and commented and will say the same thing now, at the end of the day its down to pure jealousy, if these people put as much effort into there ponies as they do slating others they may well achieve something one day Glad you decided to put across your views and why shouldnt you, but at the end of the day it wasnt you who has any explaining to do, just those who hate others success so much they have to post such nasty things,

All i can say is VERY WELL DONE
When i saw these comments about Springlane Pebbles i could not believe what i was reading, there really are some nasty, jealous people out there, she is absolutely stunning, and a very worthy winner, and my god if she can move like that in all that mud then what does she move like normally, you should not have to come on here and explain anything, you have some beautiful ponies and the results ( not just at the Royal Welsh ) speak for themself, and i just wish i had a pony with half her quality and movement Well Done.

well done liz and mark i think she was a worthy champion and full credit to the judge for going for nice ponies ive always had a soft spot for pebbles ..
i have vented my frustration over people slagging off judges on the hacks at the rihs thread it seams that because the judge didnt put up all the ponies he was expected too they are nick naming the poor chap bertie basset on web forum . from my own experiance he looked long and hard at every pony and i felt i had been judged fairly and would have felt the same if id been at the bottom end of the line up as well .
in my view he went for what he thought fitted the breed standard the best there were better movers in our class than my chap we call him mr average but he does move straight from the shoulder , hes dead straight in front and behind and hes a true pony .
well done pebbles and if you ever put her in foal to geraint can i book the foal now please .

Well I am also a "fan" of both Pebbles and also your stud and am a freqent visitor to your website and love seeing your ponies out and about in the ring. As well as being beautiful ponies, I have often admired how well mannered and well shown they are including stallions. I saw Idyllic Entrepeneur at Towerlands and just thought he completely stole the show in his class and was so perfectly mannered. Many congrats to you for your win Stacey - let me know when you are going to visit and might join you and drool over some of these beautiful ponies! Lexy

Mark and Liz
I didn't read the thread to which you refer, but, I think I have a good idea as to the type of comments made and it's good to see that you don't let it worry you, I only wish others would learn to do the same.
A great response to the comments made, I saw Pebbles on S4C and thought she was a worthy winner, a feminine mare with quality, type, charisma and outstanding movement ALL the attributes required to succeed at the RWAS, in my opinion!!
To those ignorant people out there, take up the invitation, go and see the ponies at Idyllic.....especially Fonteyn, who brought a lump to my throat on more than one occasion at the RWAS and you may then appreciate the quality of pony they breed/own and show there and if you've got any sense you might need to taste a very large slice of "humble pie"
Don't be jealous of these champions....aim to breed better!!

I too would like to congratulate you, not only on your superb win but also on the extremely dignified way that you have replied to the critics. Those who made the observations could learn a thing or two. All those supposed people "in the know" and also the ones with the absurd theories on how this mare was made to move like she does should be ashamed of themselves. Good luck to you and long may Pebbles continue to outshine her rivals.

I can truthfully say i have never met more dedicated people than Mark, Liz, Jenny, Norman, Lesley and Peter. They work hard to acheive the things they do, and thoroughly deserve every ribbon (and Medal!!) they win. Well done!!! It is an honour to deal with these beautiful ponies and to be part of the Idyllic team. x

Congratulations on the outstanding win with another outstanding pony, all your ponies are fabulous animals and whether certain peoples types or not , i dont think anybody can argue they are all, including Pebbles, fantastic welsh mountain ponies and Pebbles a well deserved champion. Well done on your win, she was beautiful and enjoyable to watch and good luck for the rest of the season.

I have only seen pics of pebbles and she looks super. As to her movement, she is by taliaris granite who was a massive mover. He is also the grandsire of a pony i have recently viewed and bought and that is a massive NATURAL mover also. Having seen a few ponies related to granite i can assure all of you that the movement pebbles displays is totally natural and just wonderful to watch. Well done to all connections. ;D ;D ;D

Mark & Liz, well done for coming on and making a comment.
How dare people criticise one of the most charismatic mares on the circuit ! You are dead right about her chucking her head up, exactly what I said to Stacey - you can't keep up with her, lol.
Luv you both, Ruth, xxx - and her of course !

I agree with every word, and Piper has summed it up perfectly. It is so refreshing to see you come on, using your own names, and keep such dignity in explaining your side of this in such a rational and eloquent way, in complete contrast to the "guests" who can barely string a sentence together for their rage.
Pebbles brings pleasure to so many people - can't wait to see her out again! Very best of luck.
