M&M FR - just responding to the above comments re the POYS FR - my daughter won the class - we are not producers, absolute first timers first serious showing season, our friend does the Open M&M workers on the pony and my daugher has done FR at this level this season. We know no judges and have not won a lot this year but have had some placings. I agree with the commmets about the placings - some children and their ponys should have had better placings DEFO - and the judge did not speak to my child or any other (from what I saw) - feedback is so important to these kids. Im hoping you guys dont think we shouldnt have won, my kid did a good go round and a good show. I couldnt see where she went wrong? I say other kids do the same on very different pony types, our pony is a typy hill pony - a section A - not a pretty section A - so its taken a lot of travelling to shows to find judges that like his type, even though many shows we have been to this season hes done a super go round and individual. Ive learnt that when they have kids that do a good go round and a good show then the judge picks what they like. Although in this class i didnt understand the other placings - but i was too pleased with my daughter etc to think harder. Sorry for those who didnt get placed and feel they should have - Ive been dissapointed like you at some shows this season. I do like the WH though as you have to jump clear!!! - good luck to your FR ponies next year, there were some fantastic ponys/riders in this class - real ones to watch out for in the future .

Thank you everybody involved I had a great but long day! Me and boy were wiped out! Only grumble I have is that there wasnt a photographer in each ring, I had to cue for ages and then he wouldnt do a moving shot! I had to beg! SUre there is a logical reason! Thanks again!

What you find, as a photographer, is that the people who ask for a particular shot, tend not to buy it - they manage to download it or copy it from the net & use it anyway, or, they just want to see the picture of themselves on the net, without having any intention of buying it. or, if they are thinking of selling the animal, they refer prospective purchasers to the website. Sorry to sound so negative, but I have taken many shots at shows this year which have been requested, but I can't think of one who has actually bought it. (And no, that's not down to the quality of the photos).

Well thats not my reason - my reason was I put my top hat on specially with my side saddle gear, just to get a pic! Very self indulgent but its a lot fo effort getting ready for side saddle I want some good evidence! Nothing to do witht he net or selling material - just my mantel piece! Didnt mean to cause offence I just wanted a picture of me and my horse and my mum isnt quick enough to get one moving!

Activerider I was not refurring to your win at all you pony went superb and definatly earnt the place, it was further down the line that it got a bit confusing, we have had head scratching moments this season but this went beyond that, big well done.

klh - thanks a lot - im the biggest critique of my daughter and i couldnt fault her go round or the show - however i also picked at least 4 others who did as good, i felt that it was down to what the judge likes. however I was surprised that some of the ponies didnt get a better place. its a difficult one - we have been in your situation nearly all summer - lets get the kids doing the workers !!!! (x)

Sorry, hottoddy, didn't mean to sound as though I'd taken offence, was just putting the photographers' perspective on things.

Thanks so much for all the kind comments about my judging. I had a lovely morning; very nice ponies and extremely polite riders. It was a pleasure to be there! You deserve all the accolades Penny .... a wise woman, lovely lady and fun friend!
