Just wondering about the rider of the winning Dartmoor in the HOYS qualifier.. I noticed she was wearing show pony jacket and ribbons, maybe a result of classes clashing i wondered. But I have just seen this pony and jockey again on the Real Time Imaging photos at Staffordshire County Show in M&M Ridden class, and the jockey is again wearing show pony gear. Surely both cases cannot be a coincidence? I was just wondering if natives in navy jackets was going to be a new fashion - maybe to make the pony stand out more? It definitely worked in this instance!! yes the jockey was wearing a blue jacket due to the class clashing with the 12.2 sp. And the jockey doesn't need a blue jacket to make the pony stand out, it's a fantastic pony and deserved to win that class!

yes i agree , does it matter what jacket the jockey has got on !!!! its the pony they are judging ..... and especially as its been mentioned that the jockey made her apologies to the judge and she was not bothered either - i am a judge and there are very few polite kids out there that would apologise for such a little thing, i have never had any kids apologise to me.... at leasts it shows that the little girl obviously knew she has the wrong jacket on and there are no rules just hints about what you should wear. so i think you need to get over yourself the people that make silly comments.. Well done Langfield Nightcap and jockey and good luck at HOYS.

[So why did she judge our Highland & put him last because she thought he was a bad example of a Dales!!! She shouldn't be judging M&M's at all if she can't tell the difference!!!!![/quote] Oh Finglands, I've just realised who your Highland is. What a dreadful mistaka-to-maka! You've had a better result more recently though, have you not?

Don't worry Finglands - someone on the EANP thread thought the liver chestnut Highland was a Fell or a Dales !!!

Yes & would you beleive our bay was field mates with the liver chestnut in Scotland when they were youngsters. Seems people think Highlands are only grey unfortunately.! The liver chestnut qualified for Olympia at EANPS so hopefully people will realise highlands do have coats of many colours.

The winner of the A and B class couldn't have been Wortley Pazzi - she was in the A and B class at the S of E and is ridden by Katie White and produced by Lulu and Carol Hillyard not Sam!

Just have to say the opinion that the judges were not facey can be said to be true for some sections, however most people know that sam roberts will only turn up to a show if she is guaranteed a win,so the fact that katie mariott didn't win did not mean the judge wasn't facey just that her face didn't fit.

Have to agree as she rode two this weekend, one that is usually beautifully ridden by the owner (and won both). You sometimes smell a fish when this sort of thing goes on.

Personally speaking I have watched quite a few hoys classes this year (no I didnt have any ponies in them) and I think the "smell of fish" has been very strong lol Not saying some didn't deserve to win, but, some certainly did'nt !

LOL!! That has given me the best laugh I've had all day! I thought the phrase was "smell a rat" but "smell a fish" sounds so much better! Oops you are right, but have to agree that a fish is smellier.
