nici - give me a ring in the office (01704 834482) & I will talk you through the schedule & answer any questions - once you have done it once it won't seem so intimidating next time!

Aw thanks everyone! It's just all a bit daunting knowing which classes to do. There seems to be loads of choice and a bit scary for us!
We have the following jockeys possibly available (only one belongs to me, so I have to check which of the others would like to come).
11 year old very experienced at showing at local level. Loves jumping at home but nervous away from home. Rides with single or double reins. 8 year old (mine!), experienced at local showing. Hasn't done LR for a few years, will do FR or "normal" showing. Can jump well, but nervous away from home. 9 year old, reasonable jockey, never ridden at a show. Can go completely to pieces if her nerves desert her, or alternatively may be very brave.
And these ponies: 122 WPBR SP. Works best in pelham but goes nicely for her oldest jockey in snaffle too 11.1 Welsh A. Very safe FR, looks after her jockey but pokes her nose 40" Shetland. Super little open pony, can take advantage of a little one if the grass is too good (I'm guessing grass reins aren't an option!) Would be fab worker pony if I could only beef up the jockeys confidence away from home. 42" Shetland. Our baby ridden, 5yo very novice but sweet. Fabulous paces but has a glaring (to me!) conformation defect.
We have space on the lorry for 3 ponies.
All children had their last birthday before 1st Jan, all ponies are novices by society rules as none has ever done an affiliated ridden show.
I was thinking the two younger girls could do a FR class together, Cerys on one of the Shetlands, with her friend on the little A?
Oh and I'm a member of NPS but we're not interested in trekking across the country for any of the showing champs.
Oh and you're right bigmama, we did come to Warren Farm a few years ago for the mini champs show! Cerys's second ever class off the lead, when she was 5 ;D

nici - for the nervous WHP jockeys the training stakes is ideal! (& for any who are not nervous!)
Lots of classes for M&M FRs - novices obviously but if they have never done affiliated at all then if they did the open ones they would not denovice under BSPS rules (basically need to win 3 opens after pony is 6)
Look at all the classes in Ring 3 - they are all for the younger set!
Also PBW ridden & NCPA registered (but you do have to register the pony with NCPA to do this class (£20 for life)
Again - if you need further help call 01704 834482 (but not Wednesday as will be running clinic - would be ideal for any of your jockeys at 2pm slot - no problem with winter hairiness it is just like a lesson not a show in terms of turn out)

Can I ask some advise please? which working hunter class would be best for a novice M & M 128? - I was planning on doing the training stakes but it clashes with another class We may have a go at nursery stakes ( which I believe the pony needs to be plaited?) but if we wanted to have a go at M&M with a 9 year old rider which would be the best class the NPS or BSPS? Many thanks for any advice ;D ;D

ewj - training stakes would be best of all - you don't ned to be in the ring for the whole class so it might be possible to do both(?)
Pony does need to be plaited for the Nursery Stakes.
Is the pony a Novice WHP? If so the BSPS mixed height Heritage M&M Novice WHP (class 176) would be the lowest height of fences. If not there is really not much difference between the NPS or BSPS open M&M WHP classes & it may be down to whether you hope to go to either of those society championships.
To qualify for NPS you MUST be a member & show your membership card in the ring if in the qualifying place, but for BSPS if you have never been a member you have 7 working days to join if you are in the qualifying places.
All the classes are qualifiers for NCPA Pony of the Year Championship Show.
Hope this helps.

please please please DO NOT send entries by recorded delivery as I am rarely in to sign for the letters when they arrive.
I have been to the post office for one today, but I cannot collect it as it is addressed to 'show secretary'....none of my accepted identification is suitable for this, so they will redeliver. unfortunately this will require me staying in all day on my day off from work until the postman turns up.....
Thank you

hursty100 - cheeky reply (!) - I don't know as I am not Show secretary - however I don't expect they will have finalised the numbers in those classes yet, as some post may not yet have arrived & it all has to go to Sport Horse for verification.

That's fantastic bigmama...I will put a request in with Simon to bring his 'marching music' especially!! not the full brass band, as they will take up too much room!
