We were having a discussion the other day about who holds the record for the most amount of HOYS wins and if any such records are recorded? So thought I would throw it out there with you horsegossipers...
I wonder who holds the record for horses or ponies and producers and riders with the most wins?
Would Superted be leading in the horse section? Was it 8 times that he won? For pony producers my bet would lie with Ron and Debbie Thomas.. What do you all think?

got the name of the pony which beat Holly of Spring just popped into my head when making 1MHcl for the 6th year as you do the pony was called Treharne Vagabond - used to be ridden by Bridget Enston and i think this pony was full brother to Treharne veronica which was Pony of the Year with Susan Ann Rose

Pumphill Buckthorn and Moortown Honeyman also have outstanding records at HOYS when considering the more modern pony.

Another one - the small hunter Smallprint won at HOYS 4 times- 1989 then three more consecutive wins 1992-1994.

All fantastic Champions! Would love a pic of Young Dragonara as a RH winning the saddle of honour for the Show Horse Annual (yesteryear section) Jon :-), one of the years that Dragonara was WHP Champion at HOYS reserve to him was the 14hh winner, Pitfold Golden Shadow- a dun gelding I found through the local rag :-)

gems Signet was Pony of the year what about Arden Vol AU vENT of Creden what a record that had
cant belive i forgot Holly won it 4 times- have even been to see her Grave - how sad is that
i can recall all the pony mad little girls all playing ponies and wanting to be Holly- not many of the mordern so called superstars can claim to have effect on a generation of pony children !

I believe that Treharne Tomboy won The Fredericks In Hand (now Cuddy) Championship three times! Incidentally, I think that Gems Signet was gelded at 4 years and only had about 4 offspring - what a waste - remember reading at the time that his breeder (Mr Deptford?) couldn't get many mares to him. Isn't hindsight a wonderful thing!

I was a little girl who longed to be Holly's rider and thank you for mentioning Arden Vol Au Vent of Creden. One of my favourites ever. In fact some people still call me Cooper (my christian name being Catherine) to this day.

Holly was Champ at Hoys AND Champ at RIHS 1975-1978 inclusive - surely unrepeatable. (She was beaten in her 13.2 class at Royal Norfolk (she bucked) by Pendley Wizard ridden by .Katie Jerram). Don't remember her beaten by a Cooper pony in a 13.2 class. Was beaten in a several Championships during her 4 year reign of supremacy - Amazing website - ALL BREED PEDIGREE INDEX - has pedigree and progeny of most of the great show ponies -
