Just been trying to enter first HOYs qualifier at Derbyshire Festtival. I downloaded details and entry form of Derbyshire Festival website and duly started to fill it in. I got stuck on the box title ' HOYS Comp No', so decided to ring HOYs direct. Very helpful, but was told to ignore this box as I must send in HOYS official entry form with my Derbyshire entry form as well. There is nothing on Derbyshire entry form to tell me this !!
ALSO on the HOYS website the 'DOWNLOAD HELP GUIDE SHOWING' does not work !!
ALSO menationed to HOYs that I had a pony on loan and needed to add the owner to their system. They told me just to enter her details on line and then attach it to relevant pony. PROBLEM though, as the owner has other ponies of her owner already registered on the HOYS system, I can't add her again and I can't access her details in order to attach it to the pony I have of hers. What a right mess up ! HOYS now have to do it all their end, for me. I entered HOYS online last year, but I'm still finding this years entries a complete mine field !!! Have to admit very helpful when you call, but I think they will be receiving lots of calls for help.

FURTHER UPDATE. Just asked the question about Entries done online with shows for HOYS QUALIFIERS, YOU STILL HAVE TO POST THE OFFICIAL HOYS ENTRY FORM TO THE SHOW !!! I thought the idea of registering online was to avoid this, so what happens if you enter online for the "said" show what do you attatch to the paper HOYS entry form? have HOYS really thought this through how many people will loose out on a qual because they didnt understand the rules, I know I have no idea what to do now!

I have entered cheshire and lincoln by paper and have been told they are both okay and gys on online and that has been accepted. Any more I enter I am going to complete the hoys qual entry form and send it even if the show doesnt ask for it

I have registered with HOYS and been given a registration number. I have also entered 2 shows online. One show said I had to state the number given in the entry form or my entry will not be valid. The other show does not state that I need to enter this number so I havent. Now is this going to be a problem do I need to contact the show sec to tell her the number Hoys issued or not?

Do junior riders on M&M's have to be members of a society? I though it was just the owner if a pony is piloted by a child.
Is it compulsory to comlete the online registration process? I have entered via the paper process sent out by the shows. So do I need do file on line too?

Hi SJM Yes, in order to compete in the Search 4 a Star classes you must have a height cert. All details on the Search 4 a Star series can be found at www.search4astar.org.ukThanks

I can confirm that the Royal Highland Show do not require the HOYS entry form, in case there are any forum members worried about their entries. Our entry form satisfies all of the HOYS requirements and (at great expense) we had built a new section of our online entries module to satisfy all of the requirements. We will send electronically all of the data to HOYS after the show (entrants and results) which also negates the need for us to know your HOYS unique ID. Hope this clears things up a little.

Hi, I have sent a couple of emails and not had a response - have been advised by the NPS to get clarification from yourselves.
Is it possible to enter a pony in a m&m whp qualifier with the owner being a member of the NPS and as the rider is over 18years - for the rider to be a member of the BSPS. Hope that makes sense!!
Look forward to your response.

Hi CharlieFox
Sorry if you have had trouble with the email, which address have you been sending it too?
In answer to your query, it is fine for the owner and rider to be members of different societies.
Many Thanks
Gemma

Hi Gemma, Many thanks for your reply. I sent an email from the link on your website - I got an automated reply saying that the person was out of the office and if urgent to email to another email address - which I did. Can not remember the email addresses or the names as I am at work (sorry not much help!!). But the important thing is my query has been answered - so thank you once again.

You don't need to quote your unique number in your entry to Derby Festival. If you are registered online with HOYS, then when Derby Fest enters your entry in to the system, it should be able to retrieve all your info from HOYS. If you enter by post then you can download the blank entry form from HOYS website, and send it in with your Derby Festival entry form. I do hope this all makes sense. This is what I've been told.

I have registered with the HOYS online thing and have my ref number. When entering GYS online the system asked for BSPS numbers but not HOYS number, should I also have sent a HOYS form to the GYS? Have to add, only entering cos my daughter loves to ride there, probably won't even get placed

We sent all our entries off earlier on in the year. All in paper format. We have received our numbers accordingly for each show. Am I to presume that we DO NOT need to register electronically with Grandstand Media as HOYS must have all the the information needed as they show secretaries wouldn't post out our numbers? Thanks in advance

I am a bit confused to say the least. Derbyshire Festival are saying we MUST register with hoys and not send the hoys entry form to them. Hoys are saying we must send the official entry form to each qualifier. NofEngland include the official entry form and no mention of registering with hoys. Which is it?

I was told by HOYs that if you enter a show by entry form you have to enter on the official HOYS form. If you enter online, you must be already registered with HOYS online with your details. I was also told by HOYS that even if you enter on line that you should still send to secretary an official entry HOYS entry form !!!! Mad !!

I have also registered my details on the grandstand media site but I do not have a unique number. Can someone that has managed to get a number please tell me how they got it ? I have my username and password but that is it. I understood that by registering with this site I could give the shows my number and they would automatically have access to my entry details so I would not have to keep filling in the new HOYS entry forms for each show. Maybe I have totally missunderstood ! Help please !! Many thanks

I think there are too many people giving conflicting advice which is only resulting in exhibitors being left confused and frustrated. SHOULD I be lucky enough to qualify for HOYS - I will not be happy with any come back caused by conflicting advice - Rant Over!

Can I suggest people call HOYs. They are very helpful. As I said earlier you don't need the unique number.
