He does alterations in his little workshop but has the saddles made to his spec in Walsall - eg the Fylde Ray is made by Symonds ( I have three and they all have one stud Fylde and one stud Symonds on the pommel)

Peter i am sure has a company in Walsall that make them for him, his trademark is Fylde so they may be made by a different company but the style of saddle and make is Flyde but the maker might not be!

Ideal make them for peter, he just alters them (wider or narrower), he has his mark put onto them because they are his design. i do wish they would put a bit more padding in them as not all ponies are flat backed welshies.

Ideal do make Peters saddles, but you can only but the fylde labelled ones through Peter. Mick used to be the old sadddler who made them for him I think but he died a number of years ago,

Calcutts and son for me I would not use any one else. They are all hand made for horse and rider.

fylde saddles all the way for me. they're not just for flat back welsh ponies at all. i have used them on every single one of my ponies from a 12.2 show pony through to a section D to a show hack, they are so much better than made to measure ones in my experience & i know that no matter how difficult the horse is to get a saddle to fit a fylde saddle will fit.
peter's saddles may be made by ideal but i can guarantee you that if you took an ideal saddle and a fylde saddle that are based on the same design you will find that they feel very different to ride in & fit the horses differently to.
fylde saddles are very unique and i'll use them for as long as i have horses.

The native pony saddle company, got my flat backed round no withered highland pony fitted and it doesn't budge ;D comfiest saddle I've ever sat in too, best thing I've bought [apart from pony  ] |

Fylde for me not only is Peter very helphul the girls are fab they are also very helpful and you can ask them anythink and they will help you if they can.
