We have a very sad home at the moment as my 9 year old cat Lulu is very sick.I had her along with her sister Kylie when they were 3 days old and bottle fed them so they are very precious to me. she had'nt eaten a thing for a week but while I was eating my chicken dinner last night she showed a bit of interest in the chicken and ate a bit so i put the rest of it in the fridge for her and she munched a little bit more this morning at about 5am. couldnt sleep so put a chicken fillet in the george foreman for her to nibble on through the day. vet said if she not better in a few days then will have to do tests to check her kidneys.she has a heart murmur but that wouldnt effect her in this way. although hand reared she has always been a big strong cat who the other cats obey,she even fought off a fox once. she is only happy lying on my smelly dirty horsey fleece on a cushion on the sofa. please all keep your fingers crossed for Lulu.   |

Hope she's soon feeling better - have you had the vet check her teeth? My old cat had to have a lot of teeth out but managed quite well after.

yes her teeth are fine,thats what i thought it was as her breath is bad.she's on medication for 5days in case its an infection then after that vet wants to do blood tests to check her liver.
i got a few oldies with no teeth and they look great now after having them pulled.

When my oldest and best-est cat in the whole world, was poorly, I rushed him to the vets and told them to keep him in and "dont you dare let him die- otherwise I will have to move vets".......... I siad it through my tears, in a joking manner, but was serious about them not allowed to let him die. The amount of animals I have, I reckon I pay their wages anyway.
Thanksfully he pulled through, as is right as rain again now.

Lulu has eaten more chicken on two occasions this afternoon and even
groomed herself a little bit so she must be feeling a bit better.
so sad to see her so ill though

Sounds like she is on the mend. Thank goodness. Dread the day my "Pickle" passes away to cat heaven! I will go into serious decline!

Lulu didnt eat much last night then slept under my armpit all night so i couldnt sleep as i was frightened i'd roll over and crush her.this morning she ate more chicken and put up quite a fight not to have her tablets.she ventured onto the windowsill just now as well and is quite interested in whats going on outside.  |

Lulu still not eaten.i'm very worried now.she is so sick.for you who have followed my other threads you will know that i dont need this more bit of bad luck.i'm just not ready to give up on her.i saved her life once and will do my upmost to do it again and again and again.
i dont just rescue ponies.if it breathes i'll be there

Well I can only say from my own experience, but we had one run over years ago and she tried her best to come home, but didn't quite make it. Maybe she is feeling rough and just wanted a quiet corner to sleep, I'd have another check round.

lulu is very sick indeed,her temp has gone up to 105 and theres nothing of her.
bought her a fish on the way home and she ate a tiny bit of it.
she's now gone back to hide.
its not looking good.

got to go back monday if she not eating but if she does eat she going back on thursday.vet said she got a fever. i found her hiding in the alcove in my bedroom inside my hospital bag. this is her at 5pm this evening  |
